Vodacom, MTN, and Cell C fail quality tests

Wasn't VC crowing recently that their 'superior network' justified their exorbitant fees???

I hope they are busy testing at the moment as a good portion of my MTN calls take so long to setup one's not sure if the call is still in progress

I track call drop rates across all our business smartphones.

The rates we get are much higher than the numbers quoted. Closer to 10% on CellC and 14% on Vodacom.

KZN drops badly for me on Vodacom. Sad to see that Cell-C is like Vodacom was considering changing over to them to get away from these dropped calls...

Nice! We need this regularly.

My only suggestion would be for them to test the quality in Rondebosch where I stay. I think that might drop MTN's score severely.

One of those areas where residents block any attempt by any operator to put up towers.

Does ICASA allow any of the operators opportunity to ensure the areas where these tests are occurring are not subject to outage due to maintenance or upgrades? If not then these results are very close to BS and can easily be skewed.

Vodacom with their "new network" drops the most calls in KZN... and they are probably the most expensive!

mtn had 0% DCR in KZN?? that is just wrong ... every call on MTN was dropped... something must have been wrog with their equipment or some got paid off

I'm sorry - I dont believe these stats at all.

Between my wife, family members, friends and myself if I ask ANYONE I'm looking at about 1/4 of the calls we make result in a dropped call. We are on Vodacom & MTN. I'd be very curious on actual dropped call rates experienced by customers and not these tests.
