You can't expect Vodacom to be up 100000% of the time... I wouldn't.
If there is problems, there is always someone to blame, let's start at the top of the tree of problems... ESKOM! :)

Got a point there but VodaCom has to sort this out, I mean after all this again and again i was about to port to an other network. How many others have/about to do the same?

(got my self a mtn and an i-mate because of all this)

Yes, Yes, Yes! I agree;)

Hey V3g, Is it possible u can check up on the albertsville tower on JHB? Whenever there is no power, we get signal for about 30 minutes and then its like the tower switches off. Then our signal is very low as we probably get it from bergbron...

Sort of still on topic...

Here in Sedgefield we have (I think) only one tower, and I believe all 3 networks as well as SABC use it.

The other day (Tuesday) eskom shed us from 10 to 12 midday, and again from 6 to 8pm. Normally in this scenario I lose HSDPA after about 20 mins, but voice on my phone remains OK - I'm guessing the backup power in the tower (batteries?) prioritises voice and shuts down HSDPA/ 3g. But then in the evening "shed" HSDPA remained on the whole time:confused: This was on the day everyone was having problems with VC network nationwide. I doubt the batteries (?) had enough time to recharge from the morning shed, so I'm wondering - do some towers have more than one backup power system in place? Generators?
