Got this email from our IT department a couple of hours ago. Looks like Vodacom is out throughout the country.

Please note that Vodacom are having network issues at the moment, so this will effect 3G cards and cell phone calls.

Odd hey, I can call my Telkom number from my Vodacom cell but I dont have voice mail nor can I call a Vodacom number, oh and I can call MTN though, dare I say FAIL?

Maybe a 'system' or 'software' that they are going to use to nail all the NON RICA'd people?!?

It's the only thing that makes sense at the moment - because if there is this sort of system or software in place, would make sense to deploy it across everyone.

More detail from what I can work out:

SMS/Phone calls
Any network to Voda( incl Voda to Voda ) - Fails
Voda to Telkom - Success

I don't have MTN/Cell C numbers to test with
