Vodacom network problems

So I get home to take advantage of the iTunes app store sale and the Vodacom network is buggered. It's switching from EDGE to 3G randomly and data connectivity is impossible. Only limited voice is possible if you force your phone to only EDGE but that won't work with data. I thought they had this issue sorted out as it hasn't happened in a few months but last night and even now there's no data connection on Vodacom in MP.

I logged something like 5 faults for this last year and they claimed to be busy with network upgrades. They must have Eskom for project management if that's still what they're doing and for some reason the problems only start at the end of business day. Night shift network upgrades?

The same problem here. Has been going on now for 2 weeks. No 3G, only edge. Makes my iphone useless when at home. Vodacom is I'm contact with me but the problem still persists.

At least they contact you. I'm still waiting for a network person to contact me from last year I think.

Phoning my home phone number from my Vodacom phone gives me a "This number does not exist" message, but I'm able to phone my vodacom phone from home. All I can do is laugh.

So they're apparently "upgrading" the network and we can expect 3 weeks of pain. I must just make a plan to finish off my 20Gb because otherwise it will all go down the drain, hopefully they restore things on the weekend. Or I best prepare to kick up a fuss and demand a refund for unused data due to network problems.
