It used to. But the 3G Only profile made the difference. I get no more disconnections whatsoever, ever since the beginning of this year.

Where did you change the settings, I cant seem to find it

i use the software that is supplied with the modem Vodacom connect lite v2.2.2.1

Go Here and download VMCLite version 3.2.1.156, and upgrade your modem.

The when the upgrade is done, uninstall version 2.2.2.1 and then install the new version.

After the installation is complete and the dashboard comes up, click on Settings ->> Network Preference and select 3G Only, then click OK, and you're good to go.

Whats wrong with Vodacom 3G at the moment?

Trying to connect, get RAS ERROR CODE 129
When I eventually DO connect I can't browse any sites.
Pinging google which times out all the time.

This started around 14h00... was working fine all morning.

Anyone else experiencing connectivity problems?

For the third time today Vodacom 3G just died. Throughput dies, then when trying to reconnect the infamous error 619!

This morning it was down about for a few minutes. This time a whole hour.

I have been experiencing random disconnects here as well. This has been ongoing for the last two weeks. Did the report thing and was told "it is resolved". Ja.

Remember the "Ping -t www.[insert what you like]" trick?

It works, no more random disconnects.

If you don't understand the instructions that Iam3G posted, I strongly suggest that you call 155 and ask them to explain the instructions to you step-by-step.

I understand the instructions beyond, but my PC ignores the VMCLite version 3.2.1.156 setup, it still wants to install the v2.2.2.1 even after I have installed VMCLite version 3.2.1.156

First you need to flash the modem with the new software, version 3.2.1.156.

After that is done, unplug the modem.

Then you uninstall version 2.2.2.1.

When you plug in the modem again, the setup for version 3.2.1.156 will start.

If you still struggle, call 155 as ic suggested.

**The one you need to download from the website is VMCLite_E220_3_2_1_156_standard. This is the flash upgrade. I get the feeling you just downloaded the software and installed it, and you still have version 2.2.2.1 on your modem.
