3G/HSDPA Unavailable???

Hi All

Does anybody know whether there are problems with the 3G network?

I'm unable to connect this morning and when I do connect I dont get any throughput.

Cool, but I'm not sure yet the specific system is 100% stable yet, it came up once or twice and then had a hissy again. Let's hold thumbs.

my 3g/hsdpa bundle with vodacom has been sucking over the last few weeks. im getting terrible speeds and latency. also my voice contract i keep getting network busy ...

At first it seemed a good idea, i mean its vodacom, but im not so sure they are the best anymore, my girlfriend is with mtn and she gets better speeds and service than i do

HSDPA connection wasn't responding. Tried disconnecting, and can't reconnect - getting 619 errors. On an EDGE connection now.

would someone be so kind to explain just what is happening with the throughput speeds on 3g/HSDPA ? I have a prepaid card,Novatell Wireless Merlin HSDPA modem.

The-Broadband-Provider-of-the-Year's HSDPA service seems to be stuffed since last night.

After a few minutes of being connected the connection goes limp - downloads are zero.

Drops connection at least 5 times a day, besides the slow through-put at odd times.

Been like this for 2 weeks here!!!!

If don't stay next door to the tower, you'll definitely experience cell- shrinkage.

I can see the tower from my house - makes no difference to the (lack of) quality of the connection here

How many hours of up time have you had without any problems?

Edit: Try running a ping for an hour and post the packet loss results here.

I'm connected but can only open certain websites.

Unable to connect to the Microsoft Update site (http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us ) news24, facebook, MSDN..

WHATS GOING ON TODAY???

It's been like this for the entire day.

Funny thing is, when i connect to these sites on my work network, everything seems fine. So it must be the Vodacom.

V3G do you know of any issues on PPDB?

I'm in Parow at the moment, will check what it's like in Vredekloof/Brackenfell this afternoon.

I'm soooo frustrated right now ..

I am currently having to re connect every so often as I get the following error opening web sites:

After reconnecting things are back to normal.
