I phoned the call centre, supposedly they know about the problem and are working on it, but could not tell me when it would be resolved. Apparently some sort of DNS issue...

The problems reported above from (mostly) Jhb/ Pta last night; still seeing these?

There was some work done last night but I'm still trying to confirm times and areas to see if it is related.

I'm having frequent Dc's now, connected like 7 times this morning. (BRACKENFELL Opposite the train Station) Im using a Hauwai Data card.

and In Stellies I connect but I cant get on the net, Then I have to reconnect for 3 times before it works, Not sure if its related to this discussion

Vodacom SUXX

It really irritates me that we pay for HSDPA, we pay cause we want a good connection, but when you go online from 7pm to 11pm you cant do anything the speed is so slow a dial up 56k would be better. I am one of the sorry people who actually signed a 2 year contract with these liars. They promised me a excellent speed which i dont have. If i go online in the mornings, weekends and at midnight I get the speed iam looking for but I work so am not at home at the right time. People do your self a favour dont get this you will just end up getting irritated. I cant believe iam saying this but rather go for Telkom ADSL. My average connection to WOW is 700ms during 7-11 it goes up to 10000ms.

Wow - seems i am part of a popular club. I am in Stellenbosch (Kriggeville) with a Huawei USB. The LED indicates HSDPA, but using the vodacom speed test, I am getting 89 kbps download and 11 kbps upload! This is insane. Do we get days off our subs for this?

Yes, very slow here tonight. Voda speed test gives 40 kbits/sec down, 56 k up. Uplink is always full speed. This on my 6680 via USB with full bar signal.

[For the record, a dude from Vodacom offered to come do some testing last week, but I am too busy at the moment to make time. So this is not a complaint per se, merely a status report with the intention to help solve the general speed problems.]

Might not be a bad idea to let Shaun come and test after hours? Can you mail him and me some of your speed.vodacom.co.za results? It's obviously very wrong.

How's the young lady?

Dunno if this is the right thread to post this but GPRS has been acting up the past 2 days. No throughput and temporary network problem errors.

// No idea actually - where can i check - slight improvement - emphasis on slight

:D
