Vodacom Problems: Slow Throughput, trying to Connect, DNS, High Latency

Boy I have been having a torrid time with the data connections through the above tower.
This is the first night in a week that I have manage to get a Speedtest done without a Gateway timeout. But look at the results:

I don't know but if the service does not improve I will have to ask for cancellation of my contract.

How can VC expect a customer to pay for this sh*t product.

Please VD, see what's happening, as your support centre is useless.

There was a problem all over the country over the weekend as one of the SAIX links went down again and we still waiting on cause and resolution from telkom.KZN was heavily affected as well

Nope my internet was down the weekend and came back up on Sunday evening. Been good for Monday morning but went down again at 11:45 today. Can connect and down/upload e-mail but browsing is a no no. Am now on a MTN connection. Funny thing is they use the same tower as Vodacom so whats the story Vodacom Data ?
Maybe create a website like the one with the load sharing last year where one can quickly go and check if theres a problem in your area. I`m sure thats not too much to ask for ?

Anyway I use the Vodacom Tower in Virginia Gardens in the Freestate

Not much has changed. I went out to buy a new modem , K3520-Z and this did not really sort out my problems . Some lady at Vodacom informed me that they have checked my tower and that they are aware that its overloaded and there is a need for another Base Station in Virginia but that due to budget problems this will not happen in the current financial year. So I am stuck with this situation but got used to it in the meantime. Its just this intermittent downtime thats killing me especially over weekends.

Any ideas ?

I have had no 3G since midday today!

VodacomData, can you please follow up on this complaint:

S2-Y5E3L-LOO6X

Add to this the 10 hours on Thursday and the 8 hours on Saturday without any throughput and you will understand why I am getting really gatvol! :(

16:22 - Thanks to Murphy's Law, 3G has been restored a few minutes ago.

Thanks for the quick reply VD. At least I now know what's up! Thats certainly a change from the Bulls**t we are fed from 155. (When we can get thru)
Cheers:)

Speeds both local and international have been incredibly slow for a few weeks now. The engineers I deal with have confirmed there is a problem because even they are experiencing it yet it does not seem to make anyone fix anything any faster.

It's fast at times but slow most of the time. The speed test is not a truthful reflection because according to that I have full HSDPA yet almost every international download crawls along at around 14kbps and I am talking about downloads from major sites NOT from somewhere in Siberia.

Can we not just for once have a fully functioning Vodacom network that stays that way for more than just a few days. I speak from 6+ years of experience as one of your data clients.

when ever you Need to use the internet it's always down. I am in a little dorpie called Brand Fort and in the last week I experienced 2 times where me and another fellow couldn't even get more than 1 KB per second down even though we have over 60% signal strength.. and the tower boasts itself as 7.2 Mbit per seconds.

That is probably his experience as well..

Have you contacted 082155 regarding the issue? Could be a problem on the BTS. You should get better speed than that even GPRS/EDGE if you dont have 3G.

Last night was horrible slow.. downloads speeds was averaging 4kbps :(
was downloading a 75mb file and had to cancel it mid-way through
Vodacom really sux

3G Card Keeps disconnecting after 10 seconds

Hi,

My VMC lite E220 modem keeps disconnecting after just 10 seconds. I've tried upgrading the software, uninstall/re-install to no avail. Has anyone out there experienced the same thing?

About two hours ago, I received a call from VC to enquire whether my complaint had been resolved. I said yes, thank you very much!

Less than 30 minutes later my 3G disappeared AGAIN and it's still off!!

This is really becoming ridiculous!!

TIMEOUTS!!!!

What the fak is wrong with Vodacom's 3G network? Taking ages to load pages and even to post this entry.
