Vodacom Problems: Slow Throughput, trying to Connect, DNS, High Latency

Are you using a phone or a modem to connect?

In my experience my phone loses 3G signal from time to time and then regains the signal which stalls the connect and then you have to disconnect and reconnect. But using a modem (E220) I have never had this problem.
 
My problems seem to be sorted....

Download Speed: 1485 kbps (185.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 202 kbps (25.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Lets hope it stays that way!

I have been up now for 3 hours so I am hoping that things are looking up. It does seem way better over the last two days.
 
Things seem MUCH MUCH better today than they have been for about 2 weeks.

They did some more work tonight to help the pre-paid not connect/disconnect situation, so hopefully it'll help.

Full resolution will be with the bigger engines going in over the next few weeks.

I have to say that whatever you are doing seems to be working. 4 hours now and counting. It's starting to feel like my ADSL connection used to.

No, not HTTP, rather the engines that authenticate you on the network and manage your pre-paid status.

On a totally different note. Can you make a request to have the VC4Me site work on Firefox and Opera. It only seems to work with IE.
 
Prepaid actually connected and data flowed for the first time last night! :D

Will pass it on, we're still busy with the big upgrades. Will probably take a few more days. And we still need to hear from SAIX. :mad:

Just for the record, ic is in no way connected to Vodacom or any other telecoms entity. He is an independent moderator of myADSL and is here to keep everyone playing nicely (including Vodacom!).

However, he is by far the single biggest resource this forum has and is a good example of how much info you can pick up on the various operators by just reading everything posted here! Thus he normally post accurate responses long before I can and displays such an intimate knowledge of our systems that you can easily mistake him from someone on the 'inside'.

Using a modem, while I'm not convinced its cell breathing it does seem to happen in what would probably be considered peak times so it probably does have something to do with congestion.

Been fine so far this morning though. :D

Works fine for me, in FF anyway.

Well, he had me guessing for sure. I thought he was in some way affiliated with Voda, guess not.

You guys do a great job here and probably don't get thanked enough, so...thanks for all your efforts. :D :) ;)

Strange, now it's working fine other then every option opening in a new window. Tried a few days ago and everything kept appearing off the bottom of the page. I had to scroll down to see everything.

Should have checked again before posting :(
 
I have been saying to friends of mine how well this forum is run. Thanks to all involved keep up the good work. As ic has said before we need all people's to be involved to keep the ball rolling. Thanks.
