crawling again, v3g, eish, why oh why is it such an inconsistent service?

and what is irritating me more is my mtn sim is flying in the E220 but I have no data bundle with mtn so this little exercise is costing me R1-20 per MB!!!!

You mentioned Vodacom getting their own international line, when will take place?. Will it ease the congestion problems? I have a high latency at night. Been as far as the advanced Networking guys at Vodacom. They said there is a problem in the Queenstown & Cape Town Area. Not to sure what Cape Town has to do with the eastern cape.

My throughput has been reasonably good the whole day.
(Was connected for 54hours, 44minutes this weakend without a single disconnect or no-downlink data)

We are looking into getting direct international bandwidth, but it won't be quick. So for the foreseeable future, we need to get bandwidth from the local source. We've got lots of extra bandwidth on back-order.....

EC (together with WC) breaks out into the internet in Cape Town, so I suspect that is what you heard. KZN, Northern Borders and Pta area via Pta and South of Pretoria (Jhb, Central, etc.) via Midrand.

Very slow connection. It takes forever to download my mail.

When I got home around 17:30 I had to reconnect 3 times just to get a ping going. Connection still very poor at 19:00

I had this problem over the weekend as well. At times I have a very good connection and the it just stops and I have to reconnect (on occasion I had to remove the data-card and re-insert it again)

Just got a connection again where 231 bytes are downloaded. Did a ping smtp.vodacom.co.za and got

Ping request could not find host smtp.vodacom.co.za. Please check the name and try again.

Disconnect and it worked fine the second time.

All the bandwidth was channelled to Gauteng, because we keep Souf Efrika going. KZN only gives us sugar & bananas = low priority.
