Where in Pretoria are you Veroland?

nextstep: have you logged a call with 082 155?

I am in the east of Pretoria, Erasmuskloof and people I know living close by have had the same problems.

If its not better tonight I will log a call.

I'm opposite the Woodhill golf course, close to the Woodlands Boulevard shopping complex and the Pretoria East Hospital ...

Will also log a call this evening depending on how it goes (I use 3G only at home, mostly during the evenings and on weekends).

I did not mention the following, I think most of my problems are caused by DNS or gateway related issues.

The connection does not drop, but sites are simply no longer visible or available. Retrying or refreshing the browser does not always work, the best option is then to disconnect and reconnect.

These problems normally occur when the 619's also start to pop out I have noticed.

I've confirmed there is a current problem in Pretoria East. It looks like most of the above posts are covered by this area. Just spoke to the vendor and they are in the area trying to resolve. It also looks like it's been there for a while.

Awaiting feedback.

Obviously the Cape Town issues are something else.

How much data is left on your PPDB, i.e. what is the remaining balance?

Hey, IC

Just bought a new bundle on the weekend - ~1900mb remains

Things seem to be running smoothly atm, last night was an exception. Just terrified that things will revert to how they were. :(

Just what I was going to confirm. There is a major problem in PTA East.

I am in PTA east now and have been connected for almost 20 mins with no problem. Feels like a record over the last 3 weeks or so.

I hesitate to jinx things ... no wait, I don't. I have had reliable service over the past few weeks - I didn't have a need to connect during the great Telkom failure around 11th-12th, but I suspect I would have suffered. The rest of the time I've suffered nothing worse than occasionally having to try 2 (maybe 3) times to connect, and having the connection dropped after a few hours once every second day or so.

Including in Cape Town for a brief visit last week.

Like i posted earlier, its only when i'm home that i struggle. And its after 7pm. I get at least 5 619's and a few disconnects when i'm here. When i'm at work in the office i connect and can stay on for all day.

I practically live on the beach here. Like a 2 min walk from the shore!

PPDB, Doringkloof Centurion.

I must also say for the last 3 weeks or so its been very seldom that I can be connected and get data throughput for more than a few minutes.

Very frustrating. Last night was a bit better but I'm starting to look at alternative options now...

Please can you update your location infomation so that v3g can try and localise the problem.

I have not had any real problems for sometime now, accept for last night with the disconnects.

Update your Location

The only time I can connect for more than an hour at a time is if there is no 3G coverage....GPRS seems stable.:(

Update your location please.
South Africa is a very large place. v3g would appreciate it.

Not yet, might do so soon - what is the average time for such a call to be taken and concluded?

Just a correction, 4 hours without a disconnection is actually pretty good, the average continuous connection period is closer to 15-30 minutes ...

I am having a fun morning ... earlier today I had a lot of disconnects. Now, I am connected for a couple of minutes, and then the data flow just stops ... nothing coming in or out ... then it is reconnect and the same happens after a few minutes

Where in Centurion we have many tower's in centurion?

I have ensured that I have disable every single auto update that I can find. I use Net meter 1.1.3 from readerror, Netlimeter 2 Monitor, & Magitime 6. When the PC is idle and I do nothing I stretch Net meter open a s far as possible & I can then see the smallest blip of activity going in/out. I then use Netlimeter to see which task is accessing the Internet. Select the + next to the active task then you can actually see the IP & port, the task is using. Try this & then see how long you can keep your connection open.

These are the connection times I have achived so far.

As I stated in an earlier post I am in Erasmuskloof PTA East.

Had to reconnect 4 times before getting any data coming through the line this morning.
