Vodacom Softblocked me!

I just got an sms saying "Vodacom Balance Notification. For your information. Mobile phone 072******* Balance has now been exceeded. Line is softblocked".

Now how can they do that is I didn't even exceed any balances? I logged into my account on the vodacom webpage and my airtime is R192.60. and my data is 32MB left.

I almost never use my phone so there is no way of going over any limits.

Does anyone know how I can get it unblocked, because it is clearly their fault, because my brothers phone and my mothers phone is also blocked because its linked to her vodacom contract and we never use our phones.:confused:

Any help would be appreciated.
 
Its possible if all the lines are on one account number and there was a limit agreement signed or the are funds outstanding for more than 30 days.

No. I just looked on internet banking and all payments went through, and we dont have a limit on our contracts. And its happening to alot of people on vodacom, just look at the hallopeter link above. First BlackBerry and now Softblocking, What is going on with vodacom these days?
 
The same happened to me as well! Been wanting to cancel my contract and this is now the cherry on top! The Vodacom store at the Waterfront couldn't even help me.

Best of all is the account that has been suspended on my side is a top-up account and there's no chance that a R58 monthly debit didn't go through.

I was told at Vodacom V&A to call 082 1946, but of course after 36 min on hold there was still no answer.

Same thing happened to me! No idea how because the money gets transferred through debit order.
 
Vodacom must have serious problems right now, my phone is blocked and there is no reason for it, I cant log in to my account on their website it just takes forever and now I see that if I make a hellopeter complaint it will just disappear after some time, its like they are removing it because last night there was a lot of complaints about this and now its almost all gone!
 
Yeah I got the same thing. I messaged ocleroux before I saw it was a problem affecting everyone. Way to go Vodacom!
 
There is not much people complaining here on my Broadband, seeing there is so many that is effected by vodacom's Stupidity once again, cant they just do their jobs like they're suppose to?

Hi Ancalagon. I got you message and had a look on the line. It is a top up contract and there is only the one line on the account, so it cant be a case of other lines on the account that caused the account limit to be overshot and therefore the account was locked, including this line.

By the complaints on here, it seems like it is a general problem. I will email this thread right now to VodacomData for him to escalate urgently.

Right...got a reply from VD....the problem was escalated last night when Vodacom became aware of the problem and it is being attended to.

Should be sorted soon.

Hi All

Around 6pm last night there were a few top-up lines that were soft locked or credit limit exceeded. I did escalate this last night but will follow up this morning again.

Kindly send me any numbers that are currently affected , so i can personally see to your numbers.

No problem, i'm just glad that they are working on fixing it because I cant live without my cellphone
 
Also got blocked! I'm on TopUp315, and the money definitely got deducted from my account. I spent 30 min on the Vodacom customer care line waiting for the next available consultant, then hung up :-/
 
appears to be a general fault on topup contracts from what's being said here.

/hopes for your sakes that the problem will be resolved soon.
 
Mine is also softlocked and subscription blocked... Its a Topup with BIS :/

Did anyone else notice that they misspelled mandatory in one of the SMSes?
