Vodacom unveils cheaper iPhone Smart Plans

AKC is making Vodacom sweat, with introducing wonderful new Cell C deals. Vodacom trying to keep up, but keep coming short !

Typical of a company playing catch-up ... they can try but they just don't make the cut.

Can't mix and match ... i.e. get a higher end handset on a lower voice / data bundle.

On the lowest package 75 off peak mins is way less than 50 anytime minutes. The data comparisons are way off. The way it is punted, some people may actually think Vodacom is cheaper, if they look at the bottom line and just compare the minutes.

Don't even go to the oob rates ... both data and voice minutes.

Sorry Vodacom ... good try.

Amazing how Cell C can challenge the giants ... and they are simply too stupid to respond properly. I don;t think they are taking the likes of Cell C seriously.

How come these contracts have LESS data than the previous Vodacom contracts??

Hehehehe...on the positive side, they are responding to COMPETITION , but it being a foreign concept to them, they....FAIL!!!!

I'm getting really sick of Vodacom constantly RESPONDING to price drops. As the country's largest network they should be leading the way. Very off-putting. Think I'll do all I can to avoid them in future when my contract expires.

Vodacom is sweating cause they have such a huge base...imagine how you would feel if you just got an iphone and a week later they launch amazing specials??

Cellc does not have that problem....iphone is new to them...

Vodacom have the remaining term of my contract to sort themselves out.

If CellC are still doing what they're doing now in terms of pricing, I will be moving to them at the end of my contract.

Vodacom: South Africa's [-]Leading[/-] Following Cellular Network!

As a matter of interest: Can anyone remember when last Vodacom was in the lead with a price reduction, promotions excluded?

I wish that the carriers would look at actual usage, or allow the customer to tailor their own package. I need a high data, low minutes/SMS package. A low-end package with 350MB data, 50 anytime minutes, 20 SMSs, and fair OOB rates, at around R300 would be perfect!

Cellc lets you do this.

Just shows that they would have ripped everyone off if it wasn't for CellC. The CellC deals still looks better though.

Such expensive contracts for such an overpriced outdated piece of hardware. So many better phones out there for cheaper.

How do we make our voices heard? perhaps a start could be their facebook page?
