The move from Vodacom comes days before the implementation of ICASA’s new End-User and Subscriber Service Charter.

Even ISPS did this back-then. Rollover was sold for more because this is where they made their $$$; which xdsl confirmed themselves.

I've left VC a loooong time ago. Now I see there's a similar article on Cell C- which is my provider for voice calls. Data is with Telkom. I wonder what their stance on this is.

Usage on the non prepaid - most ISP's only form of profit.

You will notice that prepaid is normally a certain percentage more expensive. This usually corresponds with the percentage of unused usage. The ISP makes the same amount of profit then.

Following the publication of our article, Vodacom removed the rollover charges page from its website.

The company told MyBroadband it is currently reviewing its pricing and “will communicate this on the planned launch date 1 March”.

What is funny though, was the absence of these outcries when it was the same with ISPS back-then. Not that it makes this okay at all.

Not sure if I am comparing apples to apples... but, with Cell C, customers will be able to transfer data bundles three times per day and up to 1GB per month for free.
