It's possible if Vodacom has upgraded its HSDPA in your area from 1.8Mbits/s to 3.6Mbits/s, are you somewhere close to Vodaworld?
Well, it could still be just normal HSPDA. 200 kByte/sec = 1.6 Mbit/sec
That's still within the 1.8Mb/s (225KB/s) max speed. Do a speed test on http://speed.vodacom.co.za to get your b/s rate.
The network is not yet on 3.6Mb/s.
You can probably only change contents of the fake CD when you do a firmware upgrade.
Can't you download the appropriate version from Huawei's site directly?
I see there's one called E220 HOSTB105D01SP01C03 (Normal) and one called E220 CD1HOST46V100R001B104D01SP00C19 (Vodacom).
I've only used the MTN one, I have just checked now and the ISO image of the fake CD is embedded in the firmware upgrade EXE. So, by modifying the EXE it would be possible to have anything you like appear on the fake CD.
Just checked again and I think the upgrade EXE you get from Huawei is too small to contain the actual firmware for the E220 and the ISO image of the fake CD, so all it is doing is copying the ISO image of the host software to an area of the E220 flash memory in a process very similar to a firmware upgrade.
Huawei probably won't make the E220 firmware available to the public, like they have done with the E620.
Is it possible to share a connection via the USB HSDPA modem accross a network?
Unfortunately Huawei seemed to have pulled all the different operator downloads from their web site around the time that Vista was released.Gingg. Do you know where I can find this software?
E220 CD1HOST46V100R001B104D01SP00C19 (Vodacom).

You could try the Vista update for the E220 available on Vodacom's web site, here.
CD is for Macs, pretty sure it says that on the discWow, I don't have time to go through all these pages, but I'm sure the answer is in there so maybe someone could point me to the post?
I understand the E220 is plug and play and treated as a flash (creates a seperate drive) and contains the software. But then what is the CD you get with it for?
