Has any one tried to use the completely unusable Vodapay app.
I just need to check sms balances on a sim and it literally takes 20 minutes to get to where I can see the balances.
Surely there must be an api I can use.
I thought the old Myvodacom app was poor but was I mistaken.

@DRI RR -Forget both those crap apps.

Ah but the old myvodocm stopped working.. yes web browser works great , thanks for the help

I believe there is an intermittent issue with the VodaPay app at the moment

Yea I hate using vodapay to check balances.

I have around 5 numbers that I check, add data or airtime to my kids phones and other sims as well.
Myvodacom was much better, open app and have an overview.

Vodapay is open app and stare at vodacom logo for 5 to 15 seconds.
Home page starts loading then it tells you your session has expired.
Type in pin and wait for SMS verification code if it even arrives.
Adverts load and "myvodacom" tab stays blank till all the adverts have loaded.
Then you have to click view all if you want to see anything more than data and airtime balance for your primary number.

My Vodacom App is obsolete now. You have to use the Vodapay App instead.

Yo i know the dev send me your contact details in dm

I'm on prepaid and have been using the MyVodacom app (which sucked balls) to buy data. Now it tells me I need this Vodapay kak so I install it and then it asks for phone number to send an OTP.

*network error, please try again later* is as far as I can get as my remaining airtime gets sucked dry on OOB data.

Useless.

Holy schit this app is ridiculous. Finally got past network error and now onto 5 digit login pins, followed by creating virtual wallets and God knows what else. Fsck off, vodacom. I want to buy data using airtime I already bought with my banking app like I have done the whole time. This sort of thing annoys me enough to want to change networks.

I have given up and was trying this method since Vodapay just sits like this:

Trying to log in through browser...

Ummm...the app that doesn't respond or the app that doesn't exist anymore? Which app do I now need exactly to activate this browser login?

So, dead ends all round. Emailed support and no response as of yet. I abandoned the browser thing and deleted this POS app and reinstalled. Now I'm stuck back at network error on startup screen. This is unbelievably pathetic. I am unable to buy data so just chowing OOB with zero answer in sight.

Edit: Finally working out of the blue. Incredibly frustrating. 0/10

I am still using the old Vodacom app. I tried Vodapay but did not like it. Took long to load, was cumbersome to get to my bundle balances etc. Uninstalled and went back to the old app.

@jannievanzyl perhaps it is time the design team rethink the design and the backend that feeds the app as our Vodacom peeps, including myself are not really enjoying the app.:(

@Flanders I recall that there was an update, a few updates ago, that made the app data free? Should be no OOB

The app has its ups and downs. But it works, for me at least. Unfortunately it is an everything-app first, a manage-my-account app, second. With the important details hidden behind a login.

I love telkom's approach to this, you can 'View current SIM usage without loggin in', and the important detail is right there for you to see, unless you added a password.
