Vodapay ????

NB: This Vodapay Cr**p is backed by " XLink Communications Pty Ltd and partners signing into Vodacom services.
REMEMBER THAT ANYTHING "FREE" Comes with the catch " we will use your info etc, etc. Ask Why,Where and When.
I pay for my contracts and put data/airtime on my kids phones using the app every month.

I would not call that free.

I am still using the old Vodacom app. I tried Vodapay but did not like it. Took long to load, was cumbersome to get to my bundle balances etc. Uninstalled and went back to the old app.

@jannievanzyl perhaps it is time the design team rethink the design and the backend that feeds the app as our Vodacom peeps, including myself are not really enjoying the app.:(
Yea Last month it told me I MUST use vodapay, I tried it, for easily a month but it is buggy and tedious trying to get past all the adverts and into your actual accounts. Eventually I found that by completely removing the vodapay app I could use My Vodacom again, till yesterday.

my balances etc. are the first thing that loads when I open the app.
what is it you're wanting to do?

I am wanting to convert airtime I purchase for my kids monthly to data/whatsapp data on their PAYG sims, same as for a couple of PAYG sims I have in a couple of LTE routers, then I want to be able to disable the wasps that keep popping up (why don't you go try it for yourself on the new vodapay app). and finally check my and my primary LTE contract's data/airtime/contract time/bills.

So 6 different numbers, not just one. For one it would be bearable.

ahh ok fine fair enough

Still perplexed by this app and, honestly, the predecessor too. For something so integral (I'd imagine - no expert) to a giant like Vodacom to feel like a scam to its customers... that takes some doing.

Please everyone here give that freaking vodapay app 1 star and complain. Maybe they will eventually let us use myvodacom again.

I am at the point where I now use USSD codes instead of installing that terrible app on my phone again.

Oh and report the app as threatening, maybe we can get google to remove the app from the playstore

The iOS version is stable for me.

The app is however riddled with adverts for all their “value added” services.

Yup, it feels like going to the mall because the tiny little corner shop has something you can't buy anywhere else and you need the one item so you walk 2 floors and past about 70 shops to get your one single R90 purchase.

The Vodapay app is a bloated mess. Trying to be too many things...

That said, I got the notification about moving over the other day by the normal Vodacom app still works for me.

Seems to show less info in regards to airtime.

On the My Vodacom app it shows you when your recurring airtime expires.

I was on Vodacom App it worked well. Then they changed over to Vodapay and I cannot Link my numbers as it requires an OTP which does not get sent to my number. I have tried many times. I called Vodacom they still 3 months later have not helped. I chatted today on the chat bot and they have told me they referred it to back office. So frustrated.!!!!

Yea I hate using vodapay to check balances.

I have around 5 numbers that I check, add data or airtime to my kids phones and other sims as well.
Myvodacom was much better, open app and have an overview.

Vodapay is open app and stare at vodacom logo for 5 to 15 seconds.
Home page starts loading then it tells you your session has expired.
Type in pin and wait for SMS verification code if it even arrives.
Adverts load and "myvodacom" tab stays blank till all the adverts have loaded.
Then you have to click view all if you want to see anything more than data and airtime balance for your primary number.

What I do daily is delete the app data of the old vodacom app and login again. Then I can use it for the day.

The updated Vodapay app is better. The huge mess that the landing page was has been mostly cleaned up.

I dont see a difference?
It’s simplified. All the crap is gone.

Edit: Do you perhaps have an idea regarding Vodacom and RCS on iPhone?

Not going to happen for now. Apple requires each network to run RCS on their own IMS core. Vodacom (and many other networks) have handed that over to Google Jibe.

Apple would have to implement a interconnect with Google Jibe for it to work....and knowing Apple, that wont happen in the foreseeable future, which is retarded as Google Messages is the default messages app on most Android phones these days.
