I have a Freshphone account and 2 weeks ago i set up the VOIP settings on my B315 LTE router to use with my analogue phone.Everything was working fine until last Friday when i found through the Freshphone control panel that the VOIP was disconnected.Since then i have tried everything, when I restart the router the VOIP is connected but after a while it’s disconnected again.I haven’t changed any settings from when it was working fine. Also when it shows disconnected in the control panel i can still make calls but I can’t receive any. Anyone experienced this or who can help me fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @samcro, I know Freshphone has a forum of their own, have you tried to post your question there?
Just off the bat, it sounds like it could be a firewall issue on your router.
As it seems your registration goes online when you initiate a connection from within your network out, but after a while, the registration cannot connect to the keep-alive returning yo the device, due to it being blocked by the firewall.

Hope you succeed.

Thanks, i have posted on the Freshphone forum now.i have the firewall disabled and still getting same problem so I don’t know now.

I agree, it must be problem on the router. I also had problem with B315 not answering calls at times. It improved after enabling PRACK signaling, not sure whether problem is eliminated, as I don't use SIP client on B315 anymore. Check with Freshphone whether their server support it. Also they should advice various settings for session timeout. You can change these parameters on B315 in VoIP section.

Also you should disable SIP ALG on B315. It seems to be helping for the LAN users, nor the built in SIP client.

I think i might have found the culprit,If i use my Telkom Sim Card in the router then the VOIP doesn’t disconnect but if i use the Cell-C LTE sim card then it disconnects so my guess is Cell C is blocking it.

Log the issue with Cell C. Telkom apn is unrestricted by default, it allows all incoming connections. Cell C block incoming connections (which has positive effect on your billing), but their timing setting for keeping session alive can be to short. If it is the case, changing router would not work.

You can also try to turn off SIP ALG on your router although I doubt that this will kill the registrations. It is better in most cases to have this off anyway...
