Vote in Mandela's memory - Zuma

WTF. How can you even compare the democracy we have today with apartheid, you're a ****ing idiot. Under apartheid we wouldn't even be allowed to have this conversation, the internet would be banned or severely restricted, any criticism if the then government would have landed you in jail, newspapers were heavily censored and that's just the tip of the iceberg. There would be no public protector, no independent judiciary, no ipads, xboxes etc. Definitely no porn allowed. And I'm not even mentioning all the various race based discriminatory laws that landed thousands of innocent people in jail. Ffs. The fact that you can even attempt to compare today's democratically elected government with the apartheid government shows total ****ing ignorance and stupidity.

Much as you're a troll,

The Internet was not banned in SA under the Apartheid government just as a BTW.

And of course we wouldn't have iPads and Xboxes and such, because they weren't bloody invented.. but we had the equivalents in the Nintendo's and such...

You just sound like a angry little kid who has no real idea about what the past actually entailed.

Well yes, when someone thinks the current government is the same as the apartheid government it makes me angry. I lived through apartheid and these snot nosed kids who complain how terrible it is today in SA and how the current democratically elected government is as bad as the apartheid government it pisses me off. As for your obsession with winky sizes, you should see someone about that, I mean really, someone gets angry and the first thing you think of is winky size :wtf: or perhaps it's just an infantile attempt at bullying and attempted humiliation since that's the only way you know how to respond when you actually have nothing to contribute.
I also lived through the Apartheid years, and what you seem to be ignoring is the way the ANC government is heading at the moment.
If Zuma manages to drag this country down the path he appears to be choosing, we are looking at Zimbabwe 2.0 in the not too distant future, and at that point, the days of apartheid will look very rosy indeed.

And please don't use the fact that we now have the www and iPads, to prove that things are much better - they would have been here anyway.

EDIT: Sorry, I see that this was coverd whilst I was typing - anyway it all reinforces what I was saying.

you mad bro?

I got plenty to contribute, I just dont waste words on trolls

Just remember, in your haste to object against the comparison of the current government to apartheid era government, its creates the impression that you CONDONE and SUPPORT the current FAIL government.

and THAT, pal, wont make you feel welcome around here because regardless of the PAST, our CURRENT government sucks huge COCK! No offense to our gay folk ;)

pro tip: one comment on something =/= obsession ;)
Nice contribution there. I actually thought you have to be 18 to join this forum.

I was referring to international sanctions which would have made this tech unavailable

Racial segregation is over, however ignoring this one variant and accompanying conditions, how did the ANC improve SA?

The last time I checked the various news articles, it became clear that the ANC is serving the elite comrade and not the people and will do so until the structure change. The only reason any person will carry the ANC above all is when you are given the advantage above the poor.

errrr... okay? You welcome to disagree that our current government is failing badly?

Im glad we in agreement then.

I was responding to the comparison with the apartheid government. Things are not nearly as bad and this government is not nearly as bad. Complain about the current government as much as you want, I have no problem with that, god knows there is enough to complain about them. Just don't pretend they are as bad as the apartheid government. At least under this government you are allowed to complain without facing jail time

What short memories some people have - we had our choice of cellphones and electrical equipment during that period anyway, so please don't try and make stuff up to support your argument.

Oh please! You could certainly complain without ending up in jail! - this is approaching a drama queen statement! I was actively involved in NUSAS and did a fair bit of very visible complaining and didn't even come close to ending up in jail!

The idiots who have the best run province in the country.

How very idiotic they must be.

The only thing the ANC did in return was to belittle Helen Suzman, stating that she did nothing to act against apartheid. Strange how whites may not receive recognition anymore when it comes to racial (social) integration. BAD FORM FROM THE ANC, very idiotic on their side.

Have you seen what Zuma does to those whom oppose him?

You had cellphones before 1994? I'm impressed

Yes - got my first one in 93.

Hope you are suitably impressed.
Well considering that vodacom and mtn only started operating in 1994 after the first free elections, I'm not sure what good it did you lol

I think there was a soft launch before that. I remember some people had it before general availability.
