Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Crap - just saw now in the product sheet. :(

Ooops. I setup my access incorrectly on my NAS server, so its busy re-downloading the internet.

Ok for those interested in cancellation procedure. After an email and a phone call, Vox is cancelled and I have until the end of this month to use up my accumilated data before service is cut off. On data usage, last night at 20:30 our Vox account could not stream media anymore (we were using it all day without problems) and so I still believe it was the right choice to cancel (after 3 months of unreliable internet). For those who remain with Vox I can only hope their service stablizes and return to the level that prompted me to sign on in the first place. Unfortunately I vote with my wallet.

I'm still very happy with my Vox but if I ever encounter the issues you guys in the South talk about I will move very fast. Who are you moving to? Afrihost?

Interesting, haven't been following the thread much, but I have noticed my internet performance goes to hell in the evening. Haven't really bothered looking into it because I'm usually busy with other things at the time, so it hasn't been an issue.

@Voxy

I have a capped Fat Pipe account, for which I am very happy with. is there any way I can migrate my account over to Fibre?

I have accumulated LOTS of GB form the month-to-month rollover and I would like to keep that when I move from ADSL to Fibre.

Possible?

If it's Telkom Fibre then it will already work without any changes.

I'm basically dead in the water with http downloads at the moment in Durban. I'm trying to download dropbox to my pc and it's currently sitting at 2 hours approx download time left for an approx 100mb app...

Streaming on netflix on my PS3 has been dismal since last week.

I really hope Vox can sort this out soon :/

My downloads were fullspeed till about 20:30....now not moving at all, zero throughput.

Yeah, VOX set a new record for me last night: 500Mb (yes you read that right) downloaded between 12-6am. Just to make sure its not my line / usenet servers I again switched back to CrystalWeb and immediately downloaded at 21MB again. Must have downloaded another 500Mb in the time it took to switch back.

Really looking forward to logging out of my VOX account permanently in a few days.

I think I'll give Axxess a go although I have an Afrihost account (everybody should have, they are just that easy to stop and start).

Do let me know how that goes. Been considering Axxess as my backup.

Even though CrystalWeb has been great for me I'm a bit nervous to be without a backup account as my wife works from home 100% on the internet.

So does mine...we have to drink a beer sometime at home while they work so they can show us that they actually work. Our backup is Incredible Connection R99pm 2Mbps uncapped account. It runs fine (been our backup all through our Vox ordeal) but whenever it reached two stars her gmail got throttled completely during the day and that's when I found Vox...
