Vox Telecom Fatpipe

By default (thanks to others for confirming this) the account is setup to 'cap' you i.e. no OOB

If you choose (in the control panel) to override the '0' setting, then yes, you will be charged per MB as per the T&C up to the limit (data not $$$) that you chose.

Awesome! Thanks!

Hi guys, I just bought the 100GB fatpipe special....
I have a question, the package is listed as R164, I need more than 100GB's, probably closer to 500GB...
I see there is an option for additional cap, is this for adding on extra data, if i choose to add another 100GB's would that cost me R164 again? Not sure how this works....
Be careful. Also got excited but looks like allowing OOB at R10 a gig I think (R4000 bucks extra ).
So suggest rather check with Vox.

Nope, doesn't work like that. If you run out of the cap, you will be charged at the OOB rate - which, as far as I know, since the product page isn't clear on this, is the same as the 'top-up' rate of R10 per gig [-]there are no 'top-ups' as far as I am aware[/-]

If you need 500GB a month at that price, then you'd have to buy 5 x 100 Gig packages and, as each reaches it's cap, manually switch to the next one.

Would be a bit of a PITA though - might be worth it at almost half the price of the 500GB package though.

Yes keep sighing it will help me get an answer and it will get you very far in life :)
Any ISP reserves the right to shape an abuser but yes unusual for a capped account to be shaped. However to safeguard overall use to majority users a isp would reserve the right to shape eg youtube or mail vs torrents?

I don't understand why they would shape an "unshaped" account? That's just stupid, unshaped means all protocols are treated the same and shaped means the slowing of throughput through certain protocols...so that is completely wrong advertising as it is not unshaped :/

They can when it's a "consumer" "cheap-as-****" "unshaped" account, full-stop.

Got a problem with my Vox unshaped account.
Most Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers are not working.
time.nist.gov, time.windows.com, time-nw.nist.gov, time-a.nist.gov, time-b.nist.gov

The South African NTP servers are working but I can't change every devices to use them
