Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Must say fat pipe is pretty disappointing considering its price. Had latency in wow with 3000ms, switched to my capped web africa, 180ms.

I find gaming on vox to be very erratic.. gave up long ago. One day it will be okay (never perfect) and the next I will get 200ms latency spikes on local CS:GO servers.

Name your price and i will help you get rid of this headache :) (PM info) :p. I personally plan to just have enough capacity for daytime quick downloads / streaming as needed.

Weird, my latency never went over 190 this weekend unless my downloads kicked in.

High latency on these hops..

Wonder if it is related to Telkom Internet also having issues...? hmm

Another thing is, has anyone had an issue where their Bolt-On addon was regarded as a capped product and does not open any sites but redirects to an error page. I have sent support a request but just wondering if anyone else had the same issue. I basically started a download after 8pm and after 740MB +- it cut-off completely [g4g package as i missed the FP Premium :p] maybe an isolated issue. Since this morning, they haven't found any problem  but my account [bolt-on period] is capped :wtf:

Sub par performance tonight (high latency, poor streaming and speeds), for me at least. Have hopped onto backup Afrihost account and all is well.

Hopefully just a temporary issue.

Yeah looks like its a CPT IPC issue. I'm in KZN which runs through JHB IPC and its fine. Low latency and downloading torrents @ 1MB/s

I've pm'd Voxy to investigate.

3rd evening in a row that the Fatpipe performance is less than ideal (Afrihost is perfect, especially torrents speeds and streaming HD video).

Something is definitely up.

Netflix on Apple TV hopping between HD and low quality SD - first time I've ever seen this behaviour on Vox. Hopefullly they can shed some light on the reasons, as Afrihost and Web Africa accounts are fine tonight in comparison.

Hi,

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
If you are still experiencing high latency issues, could you send me your account details in a PM and we can investigate your account.

Regards,
Voxy

Out of interest, does everyone with a fat pipe account get their IP changed daily? Mine changes once a day like clockwork. Not really a huge problem but it is a bit annoying in certain circumstances.

Have this and it works nicely but had to cancel since they've apparently discontinued the uncapped bolt-on for new customers. Would have worked nicely for me since I grossly underestimated how much this household streams. Bleugh.

So to get uncapped bolt-on I need to be on another capped package that charges R15/gig. First gig is free. So I'm thinking about getting that and swapping login details daily at 6pm. Meaning my spend with them will go from R252 for 75GB (or R312 if they let me bolt-on uncapped) to R60 at the expense of switching on my router at 6pm and off at 6am (or investing in a pfSense machine). Decisions...
