Vox Telecom Fatpipe

I'm impressed by how you are remaining so calm.

Life's too short to worry about things out of your control :p

Clearly there is a bug in the software when it switches over between the different roll-over periods. The other day my 50GB cap ran out and was supposed to roll-over from 03/2104. Now I see that's run out now and it should've rolled-over to 05/2014.

Don't get me wrong, my patience is wearing thin tho, I'd hate for a simple thing like this be the straw that broke the camels back.

Streaming seems good today hasn't been this good since before the IPC problems started.

Yes they do have problems with switching to rolled over gigs. I have had it they fixed it so will see what happens today. Doing some serious downloads today so will see what happens. That said I don't know why the chose to let the new data get used first then the older rolled over data last. It does not make sense but will see.

I agree, the list of accounts just gets longer and longer. Just get rid of the small leftovers first, the OCD in me would prefer looking at full unused 50GB accounts rather than leftovers :p

Not only that image if you were lucky enough to get like 100GB fatpipe with bolt on or even if you don't have bolt on. If you don't use all your data the list of carried over data will just start piling up and it becomes very messy and hard to track what is really going on with the usage.

Howdy

I have not used my FatPipe acccount for a few months and the dashboard says I have 250+gb's unused. I have been hassles with my other ISP and decided to use my VOX account again.
I received and email that my I am approaching my monthly usage of 50gb - but I have in excess of 200gb unused.

Doesn't unused data get carried over? If not then why does it say it is available?

It does, but VOX is a bit backwards, they first use up the current month's allocated data, before they let you use the rollover data. Which also makes sense why you got that mail.

Cool. Thanks. Will I have to restart my router once the data has been used up?

I doubt it. There seems to just be a small error with the notification. Happened to me to but you don't get cut off. Just follow the usage in the control panel and ignore the emails.

No response yet from my PM to Chris I sent yesterday about being capped again.

I hardly use any data during the day (was just using up bandwidth coz it's just piling up) and only DL overnight so I think I'm the perfect customer to have, but I think I'm just going to cancel, can't deal with this uncertainty.

Cheers.

But what will you replace it with?

Pretty similar to you in terms of usage - not a heavy user during the day at all (not even at night tbh) which is why the 50gig plus + Bolt-on meets the value proposition perfectly.

Really sucks that you're having the hassles

I got a call from Chris which I missed (I was under a machine) telling me it should be okay again. True as Bob, I'm home now and it's working, back to "active" status.

Hope this is the last time.

EDIT: Chris phoned me this evening to check up. We have scheduled to speak again monday after I've tried to finish the next data batch to see if it rolls over to the last bit.

It's sad that such a simple thing like this can ruin it completelty.

I don't know, probably go back to IS.

Or not use more than 50GB :p

wingnut771 have you tried calling them for a direct response?

I refuse to go down that path again. The first time this happened, I went through the proper channels, with no resolution after 7 days. Now I will only deal with The Architect.

Out of interest does Vox have their own news server? What backbone are they on?

Doesn't the Bolt-On only apply on the Gig4Gig package?

Yes it does but when FatPipe was launched you could get bolt on on the fatpipe packages which was swiftly discontinued a couple of weeks later. So current customers will stay on that package unless you change or cancel it but new customers can't sign up for the account.
