Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Im sorry, but performance in the evening is actually quite terrible. Ugly ping to local servers(1000) and speeds up to 10kbs, worse than mweb in fact. I got away from mweb for these terrible speeds, and yet here they are still on Vox. Wtf

It's literally unusable right now. Switched back to mweb and all is well. Fix the network.

For the 1st time my VOX account was iffy yesterday, switched to my 2nd VOX account, and all was fine. It's funny seeing that the 1st one had not reached cap yet.

Strange how some folks claim to get perfect speed on VOX...My experience is varied.(100gig FatPie) 20Mb/s SNR 10.8 Attenuation 11.9
Local speed tests get 90 - 100% line speed between 1.8 - 2.1MB/s. Youtube in the evenings get +- 700Kb/s and a single FTP thread gets 500KB/s - 1.2MB/s ....Https about the same on a single thread/ Multiple threads (+4) pushes to 80% line speed at 1.6 - 1.8

Thats my experience so far...far from perfect but so much better than anyone else in this price range

Experiences would differ depending on how "congested" your exchange is at the time, nothing the ISP's can do about that unfortunately.

I had confirmation a month ago that my exchange still has 20% of it ports available so I seriously doubt is congestion. Thats the problem with the current ADSL set up there is always someone else to blame and fingers to point. That being said Its a little convenient that speedtest.net isn't affected by my exchange congestion at any time of the day :?

Do you use a download manager at all? I find this makes a significant difference in performance. I, for example, use IDM and it consistently out performs Chrome's embedded download manager.

Yeah thats what I was talking about with using multiple http threads...Definitely helps but the trouble is many situation don't allow for this and we should be getting line speed with these packages from one http/ftp tread.

Agreed. I just feel the bottleneck is sometimes in the software we use. If the bandwidth is there IDM will utilize it.

OT Sorry, I use Vuze or Utorrent currently, will IDM work better, or cant you do torrents with it?

I use my vox account mainly for playing WoW. Thus far the account has been working great with no real issues in BGs and raids. Latency sits between 180 an 220.

This is my performance right now. Quite terrible.

Then, all of a sudden it's able to stream at full line speed, no problem. This is without me restarting the router or changing anything

I'm getting such conflicted experiences: like this short testing period of about 15 minutes, it was the same in Dota 2 last night- For a few minutes I would have decent ping (33-50), but then there are periods of terrible ping (up to 1000) and DC's. Then not a few minutes later it would be workable.

This is not usable internet, especially for online gaming. Downloading, sure, but as of now, for gaming, it is so terrible I'm considering a cancellation if it's not worked through in due course. I'm not sure how this can be exchange congestion, since this is happening at a time (11PM) where there should not be any. This is also backed up by the fact that similar "speed ups" and "slow downs" are occuring at two time periods 12 hours apart. So far not impressed at all--Not because of speed, but terrible inconsistency of quality.

At least with Mweb it was consistently slower XD, but still worked in gaming.
