Vox Telecom Fatpipe

If you believe the thing about openweb then my mind is blown.

I'm very aware of the issues. I'm pointing out OpenWeb as an example of how ISPs could reign in oversubscription by offer limited numbers of sign-ups. That would be very palatable rather than what Vox just did.

or plan out a special with forecasts... like Vox does...

Hi All,

Anyone experiencing buffering on YouTube?

Have a 40Mbps line so the speed is there.

Then another question. Can one Bolt on products on the 100GB special that is currently running? If so where do one do that?

I'm on a 2Mbps line with vox fatpipe and absolutely no buffering.

Where are you?

Well - still no response from vox after 3 tickets.

Unable to pay my account or add/edit credit card details - and now I've been charged an extra fee for payment rejection, so their system is broken.

I just called their support line and was advised to cancel.

I will be doing exactly that.

I have exactly the same problem. Their system keeps reverting to an old credit card number that was lost. I created an adhoc payment and the system shows the payment having gone off and has left my account, but then raises a debit note on the account. They now claim I owe them R 199 (R 164(100GB fatpipe) + R 35 for unsuccessful payment). Quite ridiculous. Not happy and not paying anything further until they sort out their system.

Any body's Vox account super slow? I'm getting 13KB on a 2mb line with steam

Edit: never mind, found the problem

Edit 2: this account is much faster than Afrihost geez! Should have switched much earlier.

If they wanted to prevent over subscription, which I'm comfortable with them doing, they should have released a defined number of accounts (as OpenWeb does) rather than making it open ended then reneging on the deal. That is not cool.

... however the particular comment you responded to was more a reflection of the lackadaisical manner in which the after hours call center agents respond. It mirrored a prior post from another member.
The lack of professionalism gave me pause.

I agree with this statement :)

Why?

Cause a couple of forumites, at 8pm on the last day of a month long special, didn't get accounts? Lol...

No, just saying, cutting off the "special" after a certain number of accounts sold instead of a cut-off date to prevent over-subscription is a better solution IMHO.

EDIT: But, I guess an ISP won't do this in the hope that they can get as many customers as possible for economies of scale sake.

This was a limited time offer... so what is the problem now????

Jirre people can complain about everything!

Tough luck!

Yup... I cannot grasp why. I knew it was a limited offer, hence I grabbed it while there was still time.
As for "over-subscription" I don't think Vox's network is currently experiencing that... I cannot see it, or detect it, so I don't think it is there to begin with.

14 hours ETA on my 35GB Steam download. I'm happy. Plus I'm using rolled over data

48 hours since I bought my account. Still not active and I can't get through to support :(

Vox's automated systems and customer control panel could definitely use some upgrades. That said, I'm sure you'll be happy with the actual account once you receive it.

I've heard good things, but sadly only heard about the special on the last day, so I bought it as quickly as I could get my credit card out of my wallet :P. Their support is absolutely terrible though.

I would have signed up with vox months ago but their sales people were too incompetent to do a easy sale. Its gonna be a while for vox to get decent sales and support....if they persue that..

Update : Spoke to support again, now they are telling me that my account has some kind of issue and I will have to call in tomorrow and speak to the sales department before the account will become active.
