Vox Telecom Fatpipe

I want to take a normal Home Uncapped account with Vox. I have read the FUP, but it's very standard and vague. Thus ,I have the following questions:

1. How bad is the shaping/throttling?
2. Does it work on a star rating system for the above, or is it calculated according to live demand on the network(i.e. not throttling but shaping)?
3. How does gaming perform, especially internationally, on a home uncapped account?
4. How does streaming perform?
5. How much are P2P services de-prioritised?

Not what I was implying at all :) I said earlier it "felt" like it did when there was an issue in Cape Town in the past - which seems to have been the case.

Why home uncapped?

A few questions for you...

1. How much data you need a month?
2. What time of the day do you use said data?
3. What is your line speed?
4. What is your budget?
 
Anyone else having mediocre performance on their Vox Fatpipe account today?
A lot of websites won`t load on first attempt and P2P is unusable.
WTF is going on?
 
The problem in Cape Town and surrounding areas, has been resolved.

This problem was just resolved, how's the experience now compared to earlier?

1. It differs. Between 80 and 150GB a month, depending heavily on the amount of streaming I require.
2. Any time of day. My wife also uses said streaming during the day.
3. 2Mb/s, but I am willing to go to 4Mb/s if it isn't too expensive.
4. Let's say R900 at a push.

Heh. Good luck having decent streaming on a 2mbps line and trying to use that much on a normal uncapped account.

2mb/s streaming is fine when it works. I don't need HD.

I just need to know if it works on Vox. The last part of your sentence suggests that it doesn't.

Everything's very snappy at the moment. Honestly I didn't have too many complaints today - it was just last night when I actually had to wait while loading 100KB images - only comment-worthy because VOX is amazing 99% of the time.

Vox resell IS star rated account afaik, so you will not be able to do that type of usage on vox's uncapped accounts. You will need a premium or business uncapped account at minimum with that type of usage on a 2mbps line.

The consumer uncapped is now on our network. The BDSL Uncapped is still on IS network. Just FYI.

Quite honestly, with a 2Mbps line, you're going to have buffering. If you can afford it, move to the 4Mbps line. Our network streams beautifully.
