Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Not sure what VOX's policy on account migration is but considering the issues you experiencing perhaps cvanwie could make a plan for you. Usually it would be a months calendar notice and then sign up for bolt-on.

Bear in mind 25gb fatpipe lite + bolt-on is the most viable option. When you start adding peak hour gigs they come at a cost of R10 a gig...

What sort of peak hour usage you currently doing?

Lots, my daughter us staying with us for a while, she is sucking 15GB +/- a day through my VOX account. :(

As much as I wish I could say it will be fixed on X date, I can't yet.

What I will share with you is that because of the information that you guys have provided, has led us to identifying some very interesting problems and routing with our peers.

Until fixed, here's what you can expect:

1) Anything Akamai related may be slow, bad peer-routing on their side, we've escalated.
2) Cape Town, during peak time, there will be some slowness due to what seems to be configuration related with our upstream provider. We are pushing them as hard as we can and they have escalated internally to resolve the obvious config problem.

This is all I can offer for now guys. Since before we started launching this specials, we've always ensured there is enough capacity on our network. The things above are out of our control directly. We are in touch with them and motivating for quick resolution.

That's all for now... I'll update when things get resolved on this side, but I'm certain you'll know before I do.

Regarding "Gaming" -- I hope to have time later today to give this another look; anyone with an Xbox able to help test a bit later today?

-Chris
Akami is gaming and that has take a bad hit recently.

The problem is Xbox with Party Chat. I need someone who can test this with me. I need about an hour of someones time.

EDIT: Made a change that should make gaming better for you guys... Xbox people - let me know if your party chat is broken via private message as soon as possible.

Wait what :erm: will only be home after 6pm. Hopefully it will work else no raiding for me :(

Then bolt-on is not for you unless you get it to supplement your current usage? IE as an after hours alternative when performance on fat pipe is poor.

R148 per month.

Any issues? Everything is really slow:

Running late ... Can't find the original post quick enough.

A change has been made as up 4:10pm where things in Cape Town should be better. Let me know if you run into the same issues.

Guys, PING is not going to give you a real representation of what you are wanting to do because of how things are prioritized on our network. Ping is not, nor will be.
