Last 2 days international browsing has felt very sluggish to me. Latency being fine though.

How come the latency isn't as acute on WebAfrica?

Why is Speedtest latency normal 10ms, but gaming is 200+?
Good news!
My only concern is that my exchange (Rondebosch) is not VDSL ready to the best of my knowledge... And I've been experiencing the latency issues that others have been experiencing too...
Little late to the party? The FQ was assigned to a different person on the 7th...
Was actually Oct 13 at 3:43pm.
Have a closer look at AntiGanda's screenshot. Those are all local servers. I think he's asking why should those local gaming servers be experiencing high latency, while pings to local speed test servers are allegedly fine?Speedtest is local, and you game internationally?
What we want to know, is why other (non-TelkomInternet) ISP's utilizing Telkom's VDSL infrastructure in that region are not experiencing the same issues as on VOX accounts? I'm also quite puzzled about this? If it's a Telkom VDSL handoff issue, surely other ISP's like IS (eg Webafrica) & MTN (eg Afrihost) should be experiencing their latency shoot through the roof in the evenings as well? The issue isn't a generic Telkom issue, it relates to how they hand off to us.

Apparently the latency is caused by Auth issues. Lol.
Want to Port my ADSL line from Telkom to Vox , will there be down time and how long?
want to be able to have access to the port reset tool. what other benifits are there for porting my line?

I don't know the sales side/timing, but I believe the ADSL component will cost you less through us, we fight Telkom for you when there is a problem with your line, and yes there is a port reset tool.
Yeah, not sure how Telkom's engineers figured a software issue for auth issue has anything to do with the latency ticket.
I requested a call back from a VOX rep some time this week, but i haven't been called back yet? I've taken a DSL Uncapped account, but never had any knowledge on the porting over and having VOX manage my line.
What is the process to get my line ported over?
I believe there is a minimum 21 days down time when porting from Telkom. Some new policy they instituted a few months back.
@voxy - any idea when the usage will be correctly reflected in your client zone. Seems that the after hours downloading is still being taken off my cap every night. Will I be capped when the client zone shows 0KB available even though I have only been downloading after hours?
we know usage amounts down to the hour per subscriber so we will be able to audit each and every account and correct the quota accordingly. This has not been completed yet, this was identified yesterday and work started then.
This is a quote from @cvanwie, who works at Vox.
You will not be capped as it is merely a display issue on the user side, their back end know exactly how much data you have.
