Vox Telecom Fatpipe

So I primarily stream via the Roku 3 and mainly Netflix and Hulu. Netflix is fine for the most part (although I can't get it to keep a 1080p stream going consistently, always drops to 720p then back up etc).

I was only MWEB ages ago and it used to be fine, but the Hulu app on Roku 3 was redone so that might be an issue.

I can try to cast a video from my phone to a Chromecast and see if it still takes long to load. Good idea?

Feo - let's test tonight and ensure that the protocol signatures are matching.

EDIT: updated according to previous post content made available while I was replying.

Feo - if you're available now to do some initial testing, lets do some. I want to check the signature/traffic identification of the stream from the Roku device. I'll inbox you how to get in touch with me.

Lastly, when you have time, do what Seeyou suggested as well and report back as to your findings.

I'm at the office at the moment so I can help test tonight if that's an option.

See my reply to Seeyou's post.

I noticed that my 12 - 6am data still gets deducted from my data. This shows on the VOX site when looking at my usage. Is this right?

@cvanwie - Please can you take a look at my issue that was sent to Phillip last night.

Sent Speedtests and Tracert results, he advised it would be escalated

I would like to be able to use my account this evening once I get back from work

Thanks

Got my ASUS DSL-AC68U setup and running on VDSL 20Mbps last night - what a mission to get anyone at 10210 to which from ADSL2+ to VDSL anyway...

Did some quick tests last night and Youtube performance is still way below par.
Anyone able to stream 4K content on a 20Mbps
1080P is so last year...

When doing speedtests to USA it hovered around 5Mbps compared to local speedtest of 20Mbps??

It's happening to all of us. Word is there will be a change implemented by the 1st to so sort that out.

Tell you what, with the 12am-6am allocation plus the extra 50% bandwidth allocated at the beginning of the month, plus roll over, plus the bolt-on account I acquired just before they canned it, I'm sitting on a truckload of data! Even cancelled 2 x 100gb accounts and still with a surplus...

Remarkable how the price per gb has come down over the last 2 years!!

Remember when Afrihosts R29 per gig was considered cut throat?

Hey Nimz, I don't work in support and those calls must be escalated internally properly. I don't have visibility to your support tickets; sorry!

It's a place I'm looking to move into, all I know is that it's the magic dark purple on the Telkom Coverage for FTTH...

EDIT: I see I can get 50GB at 10Mbps for R649(with an installation fee of 1710 AND a 24 month contract) as well as "free" random **** I don't want or need, BUT I already have a 150GB Fat Pipe account, so is there an option for installation fee+line rental that I can use my Fat Pipe on because that installation and 24 months is mad.

Bump from before the drama.

Basically does VOX offer a month to month after paying the installation fee? Preferably using my FatPipe data because it's daft giving up R164 for 150GB and uncapped midnight data

Ping

maybe a simple text output temporarily?

I can't offer you a simple output as it would be prone to abuse; the accounts have a sequential number, all someone would have to do is pull every sequence and have a basic view as to what people are doing on our network.

The front ends should be updated in the next few days. I saw a mail last night that the new front end was being QA'd and is on schedule.

The front end is wrong for Fatpipe, I would blatantly ignore it until the new UI is launched in the next few days.

You will need to contact sales department for this information.

Maybe this will help?

How many concurrent connections can be used with the capped fatpipe accounts?
