Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Loving the new portal, thanks to all involved.

Surprised to see almost 900GB of carried over data. Oh yeah.

Hi,

Thinking of moving to VOX.

Should I:

a) ADSL line + capped bandwidth (75GB + uncapped after hours)
b) ADSL line + uncapped bandwidth.

Is option a) better as the 75gb is unshaped / throttled during the day or is it largely the same bandwidth as b)?

Capped is always unshaped regardless of the time of day.

Can anybody explain, the reason for a setup fee? Haven't seen this with any of the other isp's

Edit: worded badly. Part of a percentage is setup for resellers. You have to signup many though to get a benefit from it though.

I had nothing to do with it. I just helped test a few things to ensure that the math was being done correctly from the right source data. The consumer development team is to credit for the new UI. I think they did a great job.

Extend my thanks to them too, you know i mean't this too :). We have come so far in a space of 1 year with Vox, simply amazing :).

My roll-over data is gone !!!!!!!

I have the 75 GB Fat Pipe Package with the 18:00-06:00 Uncapped Bolt-On (Legacy account which allows this combination).

I had about 100 GB roll-over data.

This morning I checked my account:

There are no roll-over data available.:mad::mad:

If I look at my data usage in October it seems that the data used during evening from 18:00-23:59 was subtracted from my accumulated fat pipe data. (i.e no uncapped Bolt-On during that period).

The daily usage stated:

Standard usage : 289 GB
Zero-rated usage : 62 GB

I think the Zero usage are on the new Fat Pipe accounts for the period at night (0:00-06:00). So it seems that VOX have changed my account to the new Fat Pipe (ie no after-hours uncapped bolt-on, but only zero-rated data between 0:00-6:00)

However:

On 28 October I received a data notification e-mail stating that I have used 50% of my 75 GB Fat pipe data.
Also my account overview stated that I have the 75 GB Fat Pipe with the Uncapped Bolt-On

I seems that VOX have update their client zone interface but in the process messed up my account. The help-desk at VOX are also not very helpful. They state that the "Fat Pipe-Uncapped Bolt-on" is not available anymore. But I know for a fact that it is still available for legacy accounts.

Does anybody else have the same problem ??????

The dev guys know about this and are attending to it. We have historical information, it will be corrected. No ETA at the moment.

Does this seem right to anyone: cancellation for a capped account is 30 days. Since when do you have to give 30 days notice to cancel a capped account???

Since you agreed to the Terms and conditions when you signed up. WebAfrica and several other ISPs have the same notice period in place.

Ah ok makes sense. Guess I missed that part in their T's and C's. Never really heard of an ISP requesting 30 days cancellation notice on a capped product. On an uncapped account I know but didn't know it applies to capped accounts as well.

I've never seen an ISP with the notice period rule in place actually differentiate between account types in this regard. It's to do with billing cycles and whatnot.

Hmmm ok, guess I'll have to just live with the accounts for another month until they cancel. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, just simply wasn't aware that the fatpipe accounts were bound by the same terms.

If you already have your new ISP up and running you can always advertise the accounts you want cancelled and have someone pay you for the month or completely take over the account. If they are the accounts you got on special at the time it would be a shame to just cancel them and go to waste.

That's very true!

Anyone want 3x 100gb fatpipe accounts? Theres probably a lot of rollover data as well

Price: R492

Afrihost, Webafrica, Crystal Web, etc. all have cancellation periods.

Actually with Afrihost if you cancel anytime before Midnight on the 25th you are not billed for the following month and your account remains usable till midnight on the last day of the current month.

Just logged in Portal and noticed my carry over data last month to this month did not happen, has this fallen away now ?

My Pkg - 150G Fat Pipe

This is due to a bug that I introduced. Even though you appear capped, I have special code in place to allow you to use the internet.

I'm busy arranging the fix between three teams now, should be completed by EOD.

This will not be fixed today as initially planned.

Fatpipe accounts will continue to work even if you receive notifications about being capped.
