VDSL requires a VDSL capable modem (By requesting a VDSL upgrade, you commit yourself to buying a new modem if your present one doesn't support VDSL modulation)
According to VOX www.voxtelecom.co.za/adsl-lines
"To achieve best effort speeds with VDSL, the recommended router is a ZyXEL VMG1312 B series router for the 20Mbps and 40Mbps line speeds. The 'ADSL 2+' router will function but not at these speeds."
Well, no function going on here.
I'm ready to go to the shops tomorrow but computer mania have no VDSL modems in stock, incredible connection is re-locating with some temporary stall somewhere in the common area of the mall or something (probably no stock).. Only option is telkom selling some netgear modem (i'm fine with netgear, but the modem they have is not listed anywhere).
So I really don't know if it's a risk to just buy, but I can't go on like this.
