Vox Telecom Fatpipe

In Cape Town here and zero issues... streaming YouTube and downloading without a hiccup.

Streaming and downloading does not require that many DNS queries. I am not having issues with youtube or downloads. The problem isn't with the speed, its the fact that domains are not resolving every time. Have you tried browsing a few sites? Even mybb times out every few minutes.

I am browsing as well, I have 13 tabs open and no problem with sites loading or resolving.

Hmm, forced a reconnect on the router. I was using google dns on the router, but pushed the settings on my network adapters as well. Lets see if things improve with the reconnect.

Thank you for troubleshooting with me :)

Yoh, goodluck man!

If you need anything else, traceroutes to compare etc... just hola!

Client of Vox here

Torrid download speeds on torrents.. it spikes close to my line speed for a few moments, and then its back down to sub 2Meg ADSL line speeds.

A clear indicator that something is wrong is that I cannot update my Apple devices, getting errors. This kuk started last week already.. I haven't been home much to investigate. I also battled to upgrade my Macbook last week.

I presume Vox are in denial mode that there is a problem? I am not happy at this point in time.

Dear Vox,

Can you please stop spamming my email and sms inbox with "Fibre to the Home is available!" offers when there is no fibre in the area?

That is very cruel.

How difficult is it to run a query against your customer database only selecting the areas where fibre is available?
agree

I know right, my heart skips a beat everytime I see the subject, then plummets when I realise it's still not applicable to me.

Vox "Outage Notification services"

So is it down in CT again now? Ffs

If it was, or still is, then strange I've not received an outage notification (via e-mail & SMS) yet. I signed up when it was made available in the last week or so, and selected ADSL Services notifications for PE, CPT & Eastern Cape, day or night (ie after hours).

Have not logged onto Vox yet, as using Afrihost during the day.

Anybody able to see their data usage . Mine is showing as 0 gb

Ditto. Problem started from last week Thursday. Logged a call with them. Got a call back and the chick on the phone was adamant that I was doing something wrong.

Got a call back this morning after i was "monitoring" the usage over the weekend. Portal shows zero usage over the entire weekend. :(

Same, but then again this is nothing new?

Usually it takes a few days into the new month to start reflecting usage.

My usage seems very low and not for first few days.Maybe Vox going to be doing a Afrihost with free data until 18:00
