Vox Telecom Fatpipe

The traffic shaping Vox is using has some strange behaviour.

I'm busy downloading a game off Origin which isn't downloading at my full line speed but it's not terrible, however when I try to do any other kind of download or stream something off Youtube at the same time then the overall speed of the entire connection just drops.

I've not really noticed this before until now. My fibre can't come soon enough :(

Looking for another 400GB Fatpipe account @ R169 p/m.

Please PM me before cancelling

Thanks

Is it just me or is there an issue here.

Why do both Telkom and Vox struggle with downloads from github, on my 4meg line I can't get more than 150kbps with it hovering around 30 - 80 kbps most of the time?

It's almost 2018 for goodness sake.

Just tried a download from one of the Projects I work with on GITHub as a test.
I used my Telkom account and the download Peeked at 10.16Mb/s on a 10 Meg line so I am not seeing what you are.
Here is the project if you want to try downlod.

In that case it might be something else then - because I'm getting similar speeds.

Github is strange, had same thing on work line where I was stuck at 1MB/s on a 100Mbps line, other times I get full-speed permanently. /shrug.
At home I've usually gotten ~40Mbps on my 100Mbps line for Github.

Eeeekkk

Something aint well...

CPT - 40Mbps

Likewise, had to give up streaming TV tonight and go back to other things.
Even downloading a 25Meg app to access an android phone took over 5 min.

Edit just saw your post, will also try a router reset.

Hope it fixed your issue. My speed came back, but the line seems to be dropping constantly. Might be a telkom issue in my case..

The horror that lays ahead of me to get that sorted.

I didn't reset, as the wife was waiting for a book to download to her kindle, but it also seamed to come back on it's own.
I am busy watching a documentary at the moment in HD with no issues and the line peaking at 9.04Mb/s.

Is there a problem with Vox? I've been having latency issues as of late. I've contacted Telkom, and they've "apparently sorted it out" but nothing has changed. Usually I'd get around 35-40ms ping on my one game, and now I'm getting around 115ms. I've had 35-40ms for years (since 2014), so something is up, and just checking if it isn't perhaps on Vox's side.
I'm in Strand, Cape Town.

EDIT: I think it is Telkom..Afrihost also had high ping when I tested earlier (more like 228ms though).
