Vox Telecom Fatpipe

I switched to my Telkom account and streaming was fine, I had 10Mbps speed test to London and New York, and downloads were maxing out the line, so it was definitely not exchange congestion.

Yup ... I am using backup account/s, all fine with them... definitely ISP related.
 
Experiencing the same here... 40Mbs VDSL in CT ... time-outs, slow downloads and buffer-fest on streaming services, even radio.

Grrrr... sigh.

Yeah, same thing here in Muizenberg, CPT - also 40mbps line. Gonna try backup Afrihost account now.

EDIT: Ugh, realised it's been so long since I had any issues, I cancelled all my backup accounts. :erm:

Okay, just rebooted the router and all good. Felt like a DNS issue as certain sites were unaffected including speedtest where I was getting full line speed and perfect pings.
 
Also been having intermittent slow access to certain sites while others are fine. Started yesterday morning. Cape Town area.
 
Well lets face it, first we had to cut our electricity usage and now water, so I guess next will be internet :D
 
certain international traffic all over the place, since yesterday. Same today...
 
I am still using my Telkom Backup account and may as well stay on it till VOX stop shaping at domain level in the evenings.

I can stream from anywhere with the Telkom account, but only from Netflix and Youtube with VOX.
It can't be protocol shaping so it must be domain prioritising.
Either way I payed for an unshaped account and expect to get unshaped 24/7.

Mine is the one I have had for the past 14 years.
When I applied for ADSL it came with 3GB of data.
I have no idea how much data I get now, or even what it costs, it has just been part of the phone bill ever since.
I never canceled it. I soon learnt that it is always good to have your own redundancy in place, as no ISP can be trusted to supply a backup.
 
It would be nice if VOX actually showed some customer care, admitted there is an issue and gave an ETA to fix, but as usual they are silent.
I wonder if our bandwidth has been diverted to the On Demand service they were punting.

I can't even get through to their support service. It's very disheartening.
 
Vox has been woeful this whole month. It's shocking how fast the service has deteriorated.
 
still suffering the same here, local 100%, anything international almost dead.
