Voxtelecom Fatpipe ADSL

Yeah - tried to apply and it would not confirm order...lot of help that is
Wont_confirm.jpg

No T/c's for this "special" so I assume

1. Month to month for 12 months - after which it will be reviewed
2. Not tied into contract
3. 30 days cancellation
4. Fatpipe is Shaped

How do I start this from 01/08/2015

maybe you should try it a little later again, i could check out quite fine

This only applies to their Home product. Sure it's cheap bandwidth, but the data is not always unshaped. Correct me if I'm wrong but they have two main types of "fatpipe" offerings, Home and Business.

Discount only applies for this month though.

Incorrect.

Somehow I dont think this is a once off deal, that says discounted per month

Correct - for 12 months, then subject to review.

What a bunch of idiots in the Call Center - as bad as Telkom - Jeesh - ISP in this country are useless

I also couldn't check out, so called the call centre and they were excellent. Perhaps you got the tea lady? Not a great way to start a relationship with a service provider, calling them a bunch of idiots. What happened to good old-fashioned manners, patience, courtesy and understanding? Seems these qualities are pretty thin on the ground 'round here lately.

Maybe you should see it from the point of view of a customer -
Maybe it's not a good way to get new customers -
1. Webpage that won't accept new customer application - why did I not think of that - btw it's been useless from last night
2. Call them and have to listen to a self-promoting canned message of how good the are - and then
3. er maybe Sales can help you - er maybe Technical can help - er maybe advanced tech can help... loop 5 times and lets see how much patience anyone has left

and guess what - still not accepted

Yip, i had no issues myself signing up for this, and the bandwidth is not bad at all from my experience

Vox aren't the greatest when it comes to customer service, but I've been impressed with their network, works better and more stable here than Afrihost and WebAfrica.

Yep agree, as long as you don't have to deal with their support, everything works, the fatpipe is a great product, and works like a dream!

Hey guys - just a update...

After escalating to "manager" level , no-one called back by 14:30 so I called in again and managed to find a very helpful consultant who created my account manually and thereafter I was able to complete the online app. He got a Green Happy face from me.

Account was active imeadiately and I was able to enjoy the Vox experience everyone has been raving about.

1Q tho - when doing a line speedtest - I get a "slow" ramp up to my line speed and then it maintains full speed. Ramp up takes 1 -2 seconds to stabilise - wonder if this is a VOX thing?

More likely a Speedtest thing tbh.
Try doing a test on http://slvr.pw/internet and see if it does the same thing.

No, I get this too and not on VOX. Try for yourself using a trial account from other ISP's.
