Hi everyone.
My boss ordered his "ClearAccess" FTTH for his home in Dainfern.
Vumatel installed customer's drop cable and media converter. For some weird reason they didn't splice/join the cable in the manhole on the day and left it to some other team. Next day , it was "joined" . The media converter LOS green light went out and the PON light came on. Then the fun started.
Vumatel and ClearAccess could see the media converter unit. We as the customer couldn't and still can't get it to work. At first we as the customer had to access shop.vumatel.co.za (couldn't get this going) on the converter itself or via router. Then after some heated emails they said the order number (VT) and other details were activated , so no need for shop.vumatel.co.za. As a test we tried shop.vumatel.co.za access via both equipment , as we couldn't get any internet traffic - not even ip traffic via terminal
So after some MORE emails we were told that required layer3/2 handovers were done and that we can enter PPPOE details into our router. No diff! ClearAccess doesn't see any PPPOE request from either our router or directly sent from media converter via mac pppoe session.
Now it seems that ClearAccess and Vumatel are doing mudslinging with each other on improper layer3/2 handovers , with us as red faced client , lovely stuck in the middle. You all know callcenters!!! aaarg
- Is there any person who can recommend something we can do/check or somebody in vumatel we can directly email to sort this mess? 10 days later and no working solution.
Sorry for the crazy english
I hope somebody can give constructive help or solution.
Regards,
Mr.Nutz
