Seems that way apply SOC as an additional parameter and you will see it should be fullBattery is charged. So i guess everything is fine?
There are less cycles but not voided from what I read. I can live with thatOkay cool @RonSwanson mentioned something about warranty and DOD less than 10%, so was just curious.
@RonSwanson can comment on this he has a genny on hisPls explain how the Gen change over works now that solar is installed.
I have a gen switch over and was wondering what the options are when adding solar.
Will the generator output be added to the solar when running?
My gen change over has eskom in the one side and gen on the other. Atm it is on eskom so if i need to pull any power from the grid it will be from eskom. If i change the switch to gen the gen will be supplying any power needed. The inverter does not know if its the gen or eskom thats feeding.Pls explain how the Gen change over works now that solar is installed.

The pylontech bms limits the maximum DOD even if you set it lower on the inverter, the BMS will not allow the battery to go lower.Okay cool @RonSwanson mentioned something about warranty and DOD less than 10%, so was just curious.
on the forced charge on a few occasions I have dropped sub 10% when connected to the grid and it did the FORCE CHARGE to 15% last night being a good exampleI was actually pleasantly surprised by the BMS and glad I went with the pylontech batteries. The amount of control it has over the inverter when it comes to managing the battery is not advertised or indicated anywhere.

Good to know that the hubble bms also does this.on the forced charge on a few occasions I have dropped sub 10% when connected to the grid and it did the FORCE CHARGE to 15% last night being a good example

Indeed - def is a "smart battery"Good to know that the hubble bms also does this.

The older (and discontinued) Hubble X-100's warranty specified 90% DoD.Okay cool @RonSwanson mentioned something about warranty and DOD less than 10%, so was just curious.
Similar results my side yesterday with the heavy rain etc. On the three batteries I made it the entire day till the evening when I finally had to switch the grid back on.Today has been a very good day - have been able to run pool pump since 10am, did 3 loads of washing and a dishwasher load.

Yesterday not so much

Yesterday showed me:
- I need more panels 2 more on the current MPPT facing north - and i need to add 6-8 onto the West facing roof on MPPT2
- I need another battery - same capacity will do but hopefully i can get the next capacity up (9.6kwh)

It looks like you have installed the generator before the inverter, so the inverter will treat it the same as it does the grid (i.e. blend Grid and Solar).Pls explain how the Gen change over works now that solar is installed.

Don't we all. Welcome to the club.

Yes, my gen/eskom change over is before the inverter. Change over was already there before the solar installation so we left it like that instead of connecting the gen to the inverters gen input. It looks like you have installed the generator before the inverter, so the inverter will treat it the same as it does the grid (i.e. blend Grid and Solar).
There are many more options if you use the Gen / Aux port, you can specify using Grid or Gen to charge batteries, the Gen charge or consumption rate and Gen / Aux peak shaving.
Bottom line is that you cannot use the Grid and Genny simultaneously (which is obvious in your setup, but not so obvious when using the Gen / Aux port).
