I've got W7 SP1 installed.

Remember ... this is a fresh install.

Now ... WTF does MOM.exe mean. After some cursory googling I've learned that mom.exe is a notorious trojan and key-logger ... but in my instance it is mearly a faulty subsystem of a Radeon GPU driver (I have a Radeon 6870).

Yes, I see that I should install version 4.0 of the .NET framework .. but if they demand that ... why don't they supply it?

I think I should make a new thread.

You have managed to confuse me?
Why are you celebrating a service pack install or is it something else?

It's not faulty it requires .Net 4.0 to function, otherwise disable it in msconfig and get .Net 4.0 in a few years time :)

You have managed to amuse me with your confusion.

A SP standalone installation is really just that ... stand alone ... Microsoft has really got a long way to go to make their technical assistance, assisting.

Yes ... the laymen has got the native update functionality in the Operating System ... but really .. why make it so difficult for someone to install the SP through some high-technical and non-tech literary means?

Lol
Glad I could amuse you as well.

You can just download it to your hard drive and double click it to install or burn it to a dvd?

Anyway glad you got it sorted.
:)

Wanted to try this but

Original Install Date: 2011/05/25, 06:50:40 AM
I rather not touch my windows 7 with updates now :D

Mom is part of your ati drivers it needs dotnet framework to run. Has nothing to do with std windows install. Its an ati requirement for their control centre software.
