WA download plus performance / feedback

Bad weekend in general (bar DL+ which worked well this morning) - browsing slower than normal (and this is poor for me at the best of times)

Disgusting Web Africa, I am not paying for a business account that I can't even use Google with! Browsing is beyond slow!

Its an excellent downloading account off peak hours, no doubts but browsing is becoming disgusting :-(

Actually since its slow in the day, full speed after hours, no static ip address. I can actually get a R999 Axxess account and basically have the same product for cheaper!

Has this happened to you?

A few times now, during DL+ hours, my download from WA news server just stops, and this sometime round 12:30 to 01:30. I am lucky to get a gig downloaded and the rest fails. When I say retry a few hours later, all starts again hassle free.

This really is annoying and I do hope WA is sorting it out as it defeats the object of DL+ :(

Hey Fulton- Will get one of our guys to give you a call re the brief outage on our news server this morning :)

Alright is it just me or are the usage reports utterly inaccurate. According to WA I used 2.77 GB between 2am and 3am, not bad for a 4 Meg line but unfortunately utterly impossible.

I wonder if their day time usage logs are this inaccurate? Anyhow I have PM'ed Jeff and Jena let's see if I am just lucky.

I agree totally - it has happened to me on a few occasions now and I have just let it be as 100 gigs should be enough for me (but that said I have almost used up my 100 gigs for this month and will be short for the last few days). My concern is more for accuracy during the day when I do not want to loose part of my 30 gigs.

This happened to me a good few months ago when I had paid for some DL+ gigs and after a few weeks I was given 3 gigs to make up for the loss - it did take a lot of effort to get this though which I thought was a pity as why should I suffer for something which is impossible

Will you keep us posted Shayd on feedback?

Heya Shayd,

I believe that you've been in contact with our DSL guys who are having a look into this?
PM'ed you about it earlier this morning :)

I haven't been able to connect to the Web Africa News Server this year... So count yourself lucky if you actually get spikes!

Alright, the answer I got is pretty much that their reports are not accurate and should not be trusted.

Running a test tonight to see just how inaccurate.

not really the answer I wanted but hey.

So basically it overstates usage and we just need to accept that we will not get the full allocation. Seems a bit harsh.

Thanks for letting us know and look forward to hearing about your findings
