WAR - Which servers?

I picked up my copy at BT 10Am, rushed home and began installing.
The first installation bombed out so I reinstalled again..
two hours later I managed to get in patching.
8:30 PM FINALLY the patch finishes… I click play….
BOOM critical error -.- Cant launch the game what so ever
After reading manymany threads on ppl having the same problem I begin to try random ‘fixes’ that have helped other ppl. Eventally after adjusting something in DXdiag Iit freeeking WORKED at 11:30 ish
Anyway first impressions are awesome, pretty fun :P

Needless to say Im pretty miserable at work from my late night
 
Yay Take2 shipped my order.. Hopefully will get some goot War time over the weekend :D
 
Quick question for the lucky guys that have started playing, how is the latency? When they started talking about massive battles and full collision detection I started getting worried that it wouldn't be an enjoyable experience from SA.
 
Personally I have not had any problems in battles with regards to latency. Being a caster though could help, I was healing 3 full groups yesterday and only had one guy die on me, and that was because he ran out of my LOS. Also ended up in the top 5 a number of times in Scenarios.. so its playable.

I haven't tried melee yet in RVR, so cant comment on that

Things get a bit "shaky" after about 2-3 hours of play, but a quick reboot sorts that out. I have read on the net that installing the new Nvidia BETA drivers has sorted this out for many people, I'm just to lazy and it serves as a reminder to take a break when it happens

Guys have been using fraps to check their frame rate, and only way I've found to test the latency is do a tracert to the server.
 
Sounds promising, my rig is pretty decent so that shouldn't be an issue - just friggin' Telkom. Plus, I love casters played Lock and Mage in WoW. Anyone possibly created their own patch, using some binary difference patch creation software and hosted it locally? K maybe that's asking a bit too much, but u gotta try hey. :D

I found the game feeling a bit jerky even though I could run AoC at my prefered res at full setting and constant 30+fps. I dunno if its graphics or loading related, might be textures but I had to actually put WAR down to medium but its still not smooth enough. Just grabbed latest drivers and wil lsee if that help. Running with HD2900XT at 1680x1050 (22" wide). Think I should start frpas to at least check if its FPS or maybe something else.

[edit] so where is everyone playing and what guilds have been formed? I'll put down the server I play on soon as I log in again and remeber to write the name down :P Will prolly join another server as I wanna check out the classes from order side also.

I can never remember the name of the server, I think its Karak-Azgal :confused: I wish they could of thought of better names :), But its the same server as mentioned by the other guys who are all playing there from SA right now.

I joined up there to play with the metagaming guys, but have only seen one person from that guild online so far :( I did however find some other SA guys playing and have joined up with them now.

Greetings fellow WAR folks! I was just wondering if anyone else is having problems Registering? I cant seem to enter a Login name. I've tried every possible combination & cant seem to make it work.

Does the Login name, when registering have to be in CAPS, Short, email format, or something else I'm missing?

Okaaaay, So now my unfortunate self has a lovely new problem.

I'm trying to log in, having successfully created & registered, only to be told that my login is unsuccessfull.

I'm getting a very annoying Authentication Failed Error.

Please someone help or shed some light on this. :(
 
Y2K, Did you enter your key on the accounts page and did you get email confirming that you now got 30 day play time?

I play on Karak Vlag - destruction side - Tyanu
will try some of the other servers to check classes on order side

HeyXyber! :D Yes I did & I received the email too. I also doubled checked.

I'm not 100% sure if its due to the slow International connection im getting from SAIX in Durbs. Its been happening off & on the entire week... :confused:

There's alot of those issues floating around. However, make sure you have the retail client pointing to the right servers. i.e. EU Client and have a EU Key. I assume you bought the box. Look here for other things to try ,

b] Connection [resetting routers etc]
c] The servers actually being down [in the morning especially]
d] Invalid Client

I've found alot of ppl seem to have http://herald.warhammeronline.com/warherald/NewsArticle.war?id=261 this problem. I have a similar problem, that I'm currently troubleshooting...
