Thanks for this. Last info I had, the Sport was costing more than the syndicated shows.

Don't be gullible dude...that was sucked out of both his thumbs.

3rd party channels are paid x cents (usd) per sub, dstv than offer more for some channels for exclusivity.
Content is once off purchases for a paytv first run. Price is based on bidding on x cost per sub. Dstv then decides, that's too low, we will pay for the second window too to keep etv,sabc starsat as far as possible away from the content.

What BBotha don't realise is that you do not get 100% new content every month, so his overly simplified analysis is wrong. It is certainly possible for a network to work out total cost per sub but that'll require a lot of data, including but not limited to the cost of tv shows and sport.

Given the way the Rand has tanked in the past 24 hours (not excluding previous deterioration), their annual increase is going to need tons of Vaseline :sick:
