Weak rand has big impact on DStv

Seems that DSTV are applying the Vaseline for a hefty increase in subscription costs. Anything to justify something exorbitant.

I wonder whether the DStv haters above are subscribers.

If they are, why not stop the pain by stopping the subscription? Last I checked they weren't compulsory.

If they aren't, why bother complaining?

I'd love a Veyron for the wife, but they're currently unaffordable. Still, despite the very high price I just can't get myself worked up enough to complain to anyone about it, and spewing hate at Bugatti is unthinkable and childish.

I am a subscriber. Even if people aren't, they have every right to complain as they are potential subscribers and/or previous subscribers, and Multichoice should be trying to expand the pool, not milk a shrinking one.

A rape victim doesn't forget the rapist

No-one's questioning their right to complain That's established in law.

What I'm questioning is not their right but the rightness, and the prudence.

Since we in the mood of using analogies:
Complaining about Dstv to multichoice is like
Complaining about paying tax to SARS.

Neither multichoice nor SARS gives a royal F***

Leave my TV out of it, it's a innocent bystander....albeit, key witness
Of course. I have no intention of involving your TV in anything unconventional, and trust you don't either ;). Your retort above, however, gives pause...

I am merely trying to understand why you are so filled with bile and animosity against the nice smiling ladies and gentlemen who provide my satellite television services. I've never found them to be anything other than polite and obliging.

Spelt my surname wrong when I signed up through the call centre. Cannot be changed without visiting a physical DSTV store. I gave up.

I don't get your comment? As somebody said:
for the wife
I'm brave, not stupid :D

As for the Vaseline, last I looked it's petroleum jelly. So even the price of that will be going up ...

Perfect timing for the mandatory 2016 price increase.
I wonder if it'll match the decrease in value of the local currency since the last adjustment?

I don't think anyone can credibly argue that DStv are debasing the currency. The responsibility for the ever-diminishing Rand lies with our political overlords, I would suggest.

That's outrageous.

I'd write an email to the CEO, followed by a fax. Speak to his personal assistant to make sure you get through to the right person.

They ought to fix that immediately, I absolutely agree.

Don't be daft. mono****s are the ones complaining, we're the ones ridiculing their complaints.

Monochoice have made their move, what happens next is history. Prepare those lubes .
