Web Africa ADSL general feedback

Yes, can confirm they are having problems AGAIN.

Lost a few downloads due to timeouts.

Backup Afrihost/IS account is working just fine though.

Yea browsing and downloading slow aswell as latency is through the roof

Can I please get my data back that was wasted with this slow downloading and constant disconnects? I must have wasted 3-4 Gigs today because of this.

I'm so angry with Web Africa right now!!

As a reseller of their ADSL services, I look like a real moron in front of my customers. I've actually run out of excuses and I have to ignore their calls, which is not good service from me!!

Web Africa, you're making me look like a tart. Get your stuff sorted - and do it quick.

Not one of the better days as a loyal WebAfrica customer!

Eventually had to switch over to MWeb account but noticed all the retry and dropped connections used a lot if my data cap :(

Even the WebAfrica client area website kept giving internal error messages :(

I messed up a new domain creation with a spelling error on the hosting account and unfortunately WebAfrica did not pick it up and made the problem bigger - so very frustrating that the normal efficient support was not available today..

I did not have a look this morning stuck to my Openweb account, will have a go tonight.

Had high latencies for international gaming again last night. Send my screenshots and tests to WA support.
Even had high latency in wow in normal non raid, non instance play. At around 20:00 it did seem to get better, but the fluctuations in the net speed, is not acceptable for gaming.

Worst is why does your website show status all green while you're obviously having problems like yesterday?
Where can I reliably go to get accurate info about my ISP status before I start blaming Telkom?
Seriously not cool!

Without having absolute transparency on the website regarding problems in real time, the website status updates mean zip and cannot be relied on! When you conveniently ignore problems on the network it brings the whole thing into disrepute, killing the public's and clients perception of WA's reliability.

Afrihost pips WA on the tests but the poor results overall makes one think that it is more than just the ISPs at play here.

As stated by other posters, some clarification on what is going on is in order.

I do not see any update post from a WA representative? Would be nice to get an update.

This is getting ridiculous:

The silence on WA's part is deafening.

Seems like they took a page out of the politician's handbook: Never admit to a crisis and there won't be one.

Sadly the way it seems to be is selective responses. Some comments / issues might get some feedback, and others just ignored no matter how many times you ask or how many people get involved.

At the end of the day, WA is the one who suffers in the long term. It just is not good business practice.

Everyone complaining have send WA support an email regarding the matter? At least they tend to respond quite fast on the e-mails. My latency problem still persists, though at least my up and download results looks a lot better than what Jase posted.

Not the case at all.
I've been active on other threads too, as well as constantly passing info onto the Networking guys to see if we can spot a trend.

In all honesty, the results appearing on MyBB specifically are drastically different to both the Web Africa Forums, Twitter and even our call centre. Currently, not a single ADSL call waiting in the queue - and 3 tickets waiting to get done, all for >30 mins.
We can't pin-point any issues, there doesn't seem to be a trend on what is slow and how it's being affected.

Have tickets been logged with our ADSL Department on this yet?

Jeffrey,
I have been posting both here and on WA forums, and as far as I can tell the problems with the gaming latency being slow is similar on both forums. i.e. the latency is unpredictable, it is good one moment and then an hour later it is through the roof. Uploads and downloads are also not consistent.
I have to be honest that the feedback I got via my tickets have been good, though not solving the problem(s) yet.

I just wish there were more ways where we can help you guys solving the problem, from the current information that we can provide it seems to be insufficient to pinpoint the source of the problem.
Speedtest.net (local + int)
Tracert to game/service
Screenshots of the high latency
Account type

All I can say with certainty is that my PC and local connection is not at fault, else the problem would persist with other ISP's as well.
