Web Africa ADSL general feedback

Was totally unplayable for me too again... resorted to playing on other ISP account...

Something is wrong somewhere WA, and the shocking thing is, we are no-where closer to a solution than we were two weeks ago.
Someone is going to have to check what happened when the problems started... Was there any config changes done to the network infrastructure ? Was there firmware updates applied to network devices ? Maybe even report / escalate a ticket to the upstream provider. At first I thought its maybe only people affected in the Frankfurt DC... seems its Paris realms as well.

Hey guys,

We've scheduled maintenance tomorrow between 0:00 - 04:00. This may see an improvement on these gaming issues.

To all the guys who are having issues, have tickets been logged with out ADSL Department as of yet? We'll be able to compare the accounts across the board and will be able to do some further testing on our end.

Hi Jeff

I see that my router also drops sometimes. it dropped yesterday when i got home from work and this morning.

Last night was good for gaming. But if you look at the trend then 2 days bad 1 good, so will see over the weekend.

Hi Jeff

I see that my router also drops sometimes. it dropped yesterday when i got home from work and this morning.

I'd like to have a look at as to why these drops are happening.
Can you please PM me your client code so I can have a look at this for you :)

My connection is still fine from Monday. Had one DC yesterday afternoon ~12:00. Was again perfect for raiding last night, so it seems at least as if my problems have been sorted.

Morning guys,

It's a new week, and reports have been very quiet. What has latency and speed been like over the weekend?

Been OK'ish for most of the weekend. Though I have not played extensively, ingame latency were towards the higher end ~300-320ms instead of the usual 220-250ms. Did not play that much on the internet over the weekend though, so will only be able to give decent feedback after tonight.
The Connection on my side at least seems to be more stable.

Hi Wajeff

Since the beginning of last week I have switched back to the WA connection. Most of the time the WOW latency has been stable with slight fluxuations, but nothing that has spoiled any ingame experiences.

Only incident was at 22:00 - a router DC on the 7th, similar to what Jase posted. Was corrected 5 minutes later and no hiccups after that.

This weekend wow connectivity has been splendid thanks.

was ok this weekend - aroung 200ms home and 250ms world

Dammit.

Cannot open any Websites now.

What is going on WebAfrica? :(

Backup through IS account is working just fine though.

Having problems on certain websites where it will not load at all, restarting my router did not help. WA what is going on????

Yup, constant connection resets for the past few hours.

No doubt they're hard at work trying to pick someone else to blame for their flaky network.

Certainly time to move some of my eggs out of their basket and into a more reliable one

Don't understand why they don't have someone that is on duty after hours to let us know what is happening and that they are aware of the problem.

No doubt WAJeff will show up tomorrow again full of excuses, but that does not help. Just to make it clear: I am not blaming him personally. If you are off duty no-one can expect this of you. The blame has to go to management for not leaving anyone in charge of the ship with the power to rectify issues such as this after hours. You don't even have to have someone on duty at the office, you can just keep a guy on standby for occasions such as this to jump in and get things moving again.

A lot of people are doing business with overseas customers and what about them? Should they be forced to get a backup account with another ISP?

WA's system status indicates that all services are operational. It is NOT operational when you are getting 3Kb/s on a http download with a 4Mb/s line.
