Web Africa ADSL general feedback

My WA connection has been flying all day. Video streaming with no issues, gaming with great pings.

Once again issues affecting the unlucky few it seems.

Well, after having been a WA client for years now, I'm pretty much ready to give up.

Earlier I couldn't connect to some sites at all, raised a ticket, and they came back to me saying all fixed. Well, I could connect, but downloading from developer.apple.com this afternoon, WA account 6.7KB/Sec, Afrihost 90KB/sec.

WebAfrica's response to this is that I should take screenshots of both download rates, do trace routes on both connections for them, etc. Do they think I have nothing better to than spend the afternoon raising support tickets, reseting ISP settings, taking screenshots, etc?

And a few years ago WA had a great network and good tech support. No more.

Get a decent ISP and stop complaining, they can't fix it or they won't that is clear - after 7 pages of complaints?

...

PM me if you must - cannot find a decent ISP / connectivity and I'll point you in the right direction.

Can any of them match the 130GB for R199 deal I got?

Online gaming is not worth it tonight, massive lag spike, speed test and DL is fine. Phoned WA got cut of 3 times and had to phone back, and was told they do not have a problem on the system, but clearly they do when it comes to gaming.

Have to say that tonight the latency is at it worst the last weeks. Getting around 500ms to Europe.

And then a few minutes later it is down to 220ms. Nice low latency, but the inconcistancy is a problem.

Credit to WA support - I did get a call from the agent I had dealt with earlier. It did not really address any of my concerns, but at least there was some follow up.

Things seems to have improved a bit from earlier, but browsing is slow.

I guess I can only hope that whatever non existent problem that WA says will soon be sorted so those of us who are battling get back to decent performance

had to switch back to telkom account WA keeps dying and even stranger thing is when it reconnects my pppoe light goes red and stays red until i switch over to my telkom account then everythjing is 100%

Latency however seems ok lol

Giving WA till end of this month if its still **** then its time to look for another isp sigh......:(

d-link router?

It usually means the ADSL authentication is failing. Create a PPP connection from PC & see what error it returns.

Had a another Disconnect around 22:00, could not get back online with WA so switched to Afrihost with no problems till now.
Reconnected the WA, and it seems fine... The stability still seems to be an issue.

Everything seems back to normal tonight, which is appreciated you guys. :)

Can we please keep it like this?

All seems well again, and my downloads went to full speed in the early hours of this morning so I got all my downloads complete.

@ who.is.michael - We all know you hate WA, I think many of us did vote with our wallets going WA, well at least I did. Show me any other ISP willing to give me 111gb per month at R99 and I'll gladly move, until then, WA FTW

I don't hate WA, just can't stand their prices nor bad service and continual blaming back-hauls...

You have Google don't you?

Morning guys,

Last nights slow browsing and intermittent connectivity was related to a faulty device on our network. As of 6am this morning, all should be resolved.
