Web Africa ADSL general feedback

is there any problems in central cape town?

nobody answering calls when i try to phone!

2mps uncapped , 5 stars , ages to download 2mb of mails.

No reported issues at the moment. Have you given our support team a call to see if they can fine the problem?

Same here.

I am still waiting for this phone call from this so called ISP going to troubleshoot my issues. Friday 7pm came and went, or wait is it this Friday that the call is taking place, oh and they closed the ticket i had open for it.

Reply when asking why the ticket was closed...

The previous ticket was closed as it was expected that the call back was meant to be performed.

Could any help desk managers or administrators out there ever heard of cr*p like this. I would fire my help desk staff if they ever did this.

Cr*p service
Cr*p everything

Move away is the only best thing. December couldn't come any sooner for me!

I have a friend that signed up with WA, hasn't even done 10GB for this month and was put onto 2 stars and when asked why, well guess what, he is still waiting for a reason nearly 5 or so days ago.

PATHETIC if you ask me.

I should have moved 3 months ago when all my tickets were answered with the same rubbish, sucker i am for giving them a chance.

Hi Westmore,

I would like to take this up with our support manager and get him to call you back. Please PM your customer code and I will take it from there.

I think when he says "nobody answering calls when I try to phone" would imply that yes, he has tried to call support but no-one bothers to answer. Maybe you did not see that in his post?

Sadly this type of response speaks volumes to the complaints people are making and which seem to plague WA when it comes to customer support (and this is not a new problem). All rather sad

Hmmm... whole WA network just collapsed. FNB works fine. WA dead.

I've got no WA internet connection in Claremont. Support says it is a problem with the exchange, not a general problem with their network.

Hi Guys,

For those that had issues last night. SAIX performed maintenance on their network which impacted Web Africa's SAIX transit links. It was not suppose to cause any issues to our ADSL network but caused minor issues with our DNS servers hence the drop in connection for a few minutes.

Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

having issues accessing WA, it was fine this morning when i left for work.

i'm back home now and no luck...

using afrihost to login...

Try restarting your router? I had some trouble at around 9ish this morning. Restarted my router and everything was fine again. Dunno if this relates to last night's DNS issues.

Can be related to last night issues. Please restart the router and see if you connection comes up again.

I want to transfer my line back to telkom but have been told this requires a month's notice. I recall cancelling my line last year without having to give a month's notice so is that correct?

As usual no reply from WA adsl support. Hung up after 19 minutex. I wonder how many support people are on duty at 9:00pm on a monday evening.

Last time i couldn't get through to them on a saturday morning i found out they had 2 people manning the phones. No wonder sue and her team have such a terrible reputation.

Canceled my line on the 4th of Jan because of continual poor connection. Asked if WebAfrica could consider ending it in Jan instead of Feb. Get a reply that basically said "Hello, I see you already canceled via the user panel. Here is a link to our policy. Goodbye". Now I know you have to give a month's notice. But 4th Jan is barely the start of the month. So because I was 4 days late to cancel my account, I have to pay for a whole extra month that I won't even be using. It will literally just sit there, unused for 2 months, and I have to pay for this unused service the entire time.

Now that I think about it, it's my fault for not cancelling earlier. I thought the connection might get better after New Years. But alas, guess I'll have to bury this WebAfrica account for 2 more months.
