on the home capped, what services are impaired during business hours?

Mainly P2P/NNTP is shaped during business hrs on Home, but all other protocols on a Business account gets a higher priority on our network than a Home account so your overall experience will be better.

is there an issue with WA business capped accounts, doing a speed test and latency is around 90ms plus the speed is around 440Kbps on a 10Mbps line....

Hi JesseG,

Are you still having issues? Drop me a PM with your account details if you still picking up an issue and I will get our guys to investigate.

Just switched over to WA recently, got 2 packages with you guys. 2Mb and 4Mb both on Home Uncapped.

Checking the usage of the 2Mb, I see 20.9Gb has been downloaded since the 17/10 and it's sitting in a 2 Star rating.

Is this normal? Pic below.

The graph is meaningless without a scale.

You must be downloading during waking hours which is considered a no no when it comes to maintaining your stars.

If you were "streaming" instead of downloading, then IMO, your usage patterns won't suit this package and suggest you upgrade.

What would you suggest upgrading to? A business line?

I'm pretty certain I've never had such a bad rating on previous ISP's so quickly.

At this point I am very happy that I moved over to Webafrica...Currently on 4Meg line with a Capped Package.

From that graph, it looks like you recently joined.

Can you describe your usage patterns so we can get a better understanding?

How much do you download?...Maybe rather try the capped account 120gig (120gig + 240gig).

Your rating won't go down if you download at 00:00.

If you do this your rating will go up in a few days.

Well the account is used by one of my family members, Mostly all streaming and mild Game updates, the huge spike in downloads in the pic is due to Mac OSX Yosemite update which was over 7Gb.

My personal 4mb package is sitting around 13Gb for the same time frame as I signed them up together, I've yet to see it move due to me hardly using it during the day, more at night than anything.

I'm thinking then if this is the case with uncapped, I'll move the 2Mb over to a capped package although heavily budget constrained at this point.

Well after a few days his stars will come down again.

Just ask them to next time let the big downloads go late at night.

Start them just before he goes to bed.

What I'm gathering from the feedback is that this account is used during office hours, in which case, a home IS account, is not the right move, or suck-it-up and wait for the load to pass as Chevron suggests.

Best to either upgrade to business uncapped or, what I would do, is give the new kid on the block (CW) a go, but I don't have this problem, as I'm at work during the day, so, daytime shaping doesn't affect me as much.

I'm too lazy to compare the different financial implications between WA bus and CW, but the way I see it, if one want's good all round performance, especially during the day, then I would lean towards CW.

I hear you guys, thanks.

This account in particular is more day time.

I've actually recently created a CW for my own personal use and to try them out. I've made the account move over to a capped package by the start of the new month. However, if this is how the 2Mb package is, I don't see me staying long with either of the two packages I have.

Thanks for info mense :)
