Web Africa ADSL general feedback

I have a question about billing on WA.

When I joined I accidently signed up with Debit Order option. I set my profile (preferred payment) to Credit Card Option, but when I received my bill yesterday (that is due on the 1/11/2014), it said Debit Order.

How the heck do I change it do Credit Card?

Check our our KB article for info below:

You can also drop our billing team an email or give us a call and we can assist.

Whoop on 4Mbps with Web Africa, moved from Telkom super fast. Great service after a few hiccups from both sides

Really happy to hear you connected and things are going well :D Drop me a PM if you ever need assistance.

Been having issues with streaming music using Tunein recently. Buffering is poor and cannot connect to streams.
I have a 10Mb uncapped ADSL package.

Youtube, Netflix and internet video streams okay.

Hi Niren,

Have you contacted our ADSL support so they can troubleshoot the issue. It's always best to give our team a call as soon as you have an issue so they can test and troubleshoot the issues when it happens.

Hello Webafrica

Is there an issue with the network?
Also, we are on 2 Stars but only done about 9gb for the first 4 days of the month.
Never had Webafrica this slow?
153Gb last month. Is that OK for 4Mb uncapped or excessive usage?

Southern Suburbs, Cape Town.

Regards,
BTTB.

9GBs over 4days shouldn't ever be an issue. Remember though that your star rating is based on the last 10days. So if you downloaded a lot 8days ago it will still affect you.

I have a small 3Gb account with MWeb, comes with my old email account, that works fine.

I am Home Uncapped with 2 Stars and you cannot browse. So even 5 Stars are experiencing difficulties which was my thoughts that this is a general problem on the network, nothing wrong with my connection.

Sup BTTB,

Ya I'm also having the same problem in the Southern Suburbs, its painfully slow but I have done 55GB in 10 days so it could have something to do with that. I did notice that the speeds did pick up after 6pm... Definitely still usable but slower than I'm used to.

After all the flak all the other ISPs have been getting I imagine WebAfricas customer base must be increasing quite drastically which could lead to a slight decrease in quality, not complaining but it happens.

+1 here as well.

Speeds was terribly slow yesterday, it was struggling to open web pages like youtube (without streaming).

Picked up a bit later but I hope it doesn't become a habbit.

I haven't connected back to my Webafrica account yet, still on that 3Gb MWeb account that comes with my old email address I have with them.
Anyway, I see my connection on the WebAfirca DSL Console has gone up from 2 to 3 stars. The only explanation I can deduce is that 11 days ago (10 yesterday) we used 12Gb. I know what happened that day, my son brought the Playstation 4 home from our holiday house and it needed a lot of updating.

Still does not explain the terrible browsing speeds, my wife was getting quite angry as she could not play her Facebook games. :)
I wonder if this hasn't anything to do with the load shedding we had on Sunday. I know someone who is in IT and keeps their network going, he had to go in to work on Sunday to sort out the issues with UPS units and other failing issues which was caused by the load shedding.

Yes, also got browsing issues here in the Southern Suburbs....painfully, painfully slow.

WA get your bloody act together!

Hi Guys,

If you still having problems please PM me your account details and speed test as well trace route results so I can get our team to investigate the southern suburbs issues.

At the moment we have no network issues that side of CPT.

Okay so barely 5 days in the month I'm at 2 stars on my 2mb uncapped? Usage at 5gb... Browsing and streaming is horrible at night!

Keep in mind the 10 day rolling window. It calculates your usage over the past 10 days, ignoring the fact that you in a new month.

On my 4MB HOME UNCAPPED account......I need to use a maximum of 2GBs or less a day to stay in the 5 star category and all downloads should be queue between 12am and 6am.

This also makes it difficult on weekends as anything before 12am counts towards your bandwidth usage, so one needs to watch your usage so as to not end up in the lower star categories.

If I use around 4GBs a day and queue all my big downloads between 12am and 6am I end up on 3 stars.

Still contemplating if this account will work for me or if I should move and download what I want when I want for a little bit extra.

If only Web Africa would allow weekends and public holidays not to count towards your usage, this would make this account a very worthwhile competitor, especially at the price.

Why not upgrade to 10meg business?
