Web Africa ADSL general feedback

Hi guys

I average around 200-300GB a month for now and I require a good gaming connection as well as solid streaming capabilities (or close enough). I'm seriously considering moving to WA and from what I've read, most people seem very happy with them. So I'd just like to know a few things:

1. How is the international streaming?
2. How is online gaming for you guys?
3. Could you guys advise a package for me and if I'm not happy with one package, can I move to a different one immediately? (say from a business uncapped to home capped)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)

Line speed?

I have a 10meg ready line, but running on a 4meg premium account.

It sounds like you can't scedule a lot of stuff for 00:00 so I wouldn't recommend home uncapped.

Business uncapped would work for you.

But since you're using 4meg it seems like you're on a budget.

You can get 600GB capped package.

That's 200GBs for during the day, and 400GBs for midnight. And the pricing isn't that much above what you're paying now for that 4Meg Premium.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback.

If a package doesn't work for me, I can change to a different one immediately right?

If you're going to a more expensive package yes. If you're going to a cheaper one it takes 1 month notice.

Hi Guys,

I finally received feedback around the Home uncapped issues and our team have picked up a few issues with the profiles and are working on implementing a fix. Things should improve by next week.

Apologies for the inconvenience caused and I will let everyone one know once the fix is done. Home Capped accounts are still pretty amazing and if your usage is not high we would recommend a capped account instead :D

Thanks so much WebAfrica Helper. This is good news indeed. Keep us posted please.

How do these account work with torrents? Are you limited to when you can download at full speed etc? I do about 250-350GB per month, not all torrents, but some of the data we use is distributed via torrent so downloads have to be full speed during office hours.

You will definitely need a Business account or Business Pro account if P2P is essential during 07h00-17h00 in the week.

Since gaming and streaming is your main priority I would recommend a capped account especially since your on a 10mbps line. Both those services perform extremely good on the capped accounts and you can get test it out with our free 2gb account here.

Upgrades happen immediately so you will not need to wait. When you do the upgrade via your customer zone it will show you if it is an upgrade or downgrade and when it will go live.

Looking at getting your home capped account but I have a teamviewer session open between my home office and business. Is teamviewer traffic treated as p2p? Some ISPs do.

i upgraded from home to business cuz homes not working that well and the home cap works good

so i upgraded cuz i should get the same lvl of performance
but nope :(
speedtest etc still show the same 5mbps-6mbps that i gotten on home also

Just want to comment...I'm trying to work sparingly with my WebAfrica capped account, so I switched to my Afrihost account to stream. Good grief! The Afrihost account buffers like a mofo, so I switched to my WebAfrica account and not a single buffer!! Thanks WebAfrica! Now if you could only introduce some ANYTIME bonus data that would be great!!

That is very weird. More than likely your profile hasn't been updated yet. But according to the rep that usually only takes 15min.

Oh so you went from Home uncapped, to Business uncapped?

What's your star rating like in the DSL Console?

I just remembered that the change might only take effect at midnight.

Can't remember where I read that though.
