Web Africa ADSL general feedback

yah,it was on 5stars
and now i am on green

as business is the same as home cap and hight piority,streaming should be way better
thats why i changed it,

i can bairly afford it,cant really :P

but if it works its worth getting

ohwell i will see tomorrow :)

so far WA been the best to me :)

i used the 1gb till it was gone,must say its AWESOME!!

i let a few torrents run overnight to see what it does about 6+ and all had over 10k seeders

I'm shopping around for a new ISP. My wife is on leave for December and I want to make sure she's got a solid internet connection for her break from work. I am susper tired of being shaped into the ground on home uncapped accounts and I want to try out a business account. How is webafrica? Are there thresholds, star ratings, high contention and shaping on the business accounts? And how is the performance in general?

Here is a link to their priority list for the various accounts: WA Profile Priorities

As I understand it Business accounts are full on all the time. However p2p is STILL the first service which will be impacted by shaping if the network deems it needed. Don't rightfully know if the business uncapped has star ratings though...I'm sure Chevron can answer that.

Supposedly business uncapped and home capped are on the same priority levels, but my personal preference is a large business capped account. It's one level up and I use it a lot during business hours for business stuff as well as music streaming and youtube. Very rarely have issues with anything. 4Mbps line that runs at just over 3Mbps, so the business uncapped pro option is kind of at the same price level (but lower priority) and I don't really use more than 70GB in a month anyway.

P2P is one of the main reasons I'm pissed at my current ISP. A lot of the games I play uses P2P and my bald spot is getting bigger and bigger.

Well I've never ever had any issues gaming with Web Africa Business.
 
Looking for the right package, and I see good things with webafrica.

I was on the mweb 4mb premium uncapped. I game, I download nntp and torrents if nntp is down.I stream twitch everyday. My gb usage ranges from 250-370gb per month. Is premium uncapped the way to go? Thanks
 
@WAHelper - any update on the Home uncapped debacle? As slow as ever so I'm guessing it has not been fixed yet.

I see that table in the link lists various account priority types, some listings looking very attractive. Can't find them on the ordering side of the website, though

If you can schedule some of your downloads for midnight then Web Africa Business will work for you.

The shaping depends on your day time usage. If don't download that much during the day you will be unshaped. NNTP will be fullspeed.

If you only download during the day you will be shaped more.

So if you need to download during the day 24/7 you need business pro. if you can schedule some of your stuff for midnight then normal business will be fine. If you only download at night then home will be fine.

support said i am on 10mbps and cant find any issues but they havent even loged into my account to test it
speed tests show +-500kb/s
guest@telkom works 100% so its not my line
tracers are good

the realtime buffer throughput is 60-110kb/s on youtube
